ゲームは、楽しみや癒しのためだけではありません。ゲームは、社会を変える力があります。それを証明するのが、「ePARA」というプロジェクトです。

ePARAとは、株式会社ePARAが主催する、障害×ゲームの文化祭です。ePARAは、「本気で遊べば、明日は変わる」というステートメントに掲げて、eスポーツを通じて「誰もが輝ける社会づくり」を目指しています。
ePARA is a cultural festival of disability x games organized by ePARA, Inc. ePARA aims to "create a society where everyone can shine" through e-sports with the statement, "If you play seriously, tomorrow will change”.

ePARAでは、様々な障害や難病を持つメンバーが各々の得意分野を生かしながら、バリアフリーeスポーツの可能性を広げる活動に取り組んでいます。バリアフリーeスポーツとは、障害の有無や年齢などに関係なく、誰もが楽しめるeスポーツのことです。
At ePARA, members with various disabilities and intractable diseases are working to expand the possibilities of barrier-free e-sports while making the most of their respective fields of expertise. Barrier-free e-sports are e-sports that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of disability or age.

ePARAでは、視覚情報を用いない格闘ゲーム「心眼カップ」や車椅子eサッカー「ePARAユナイテッド」など、独自の競技やチームを開発しています。また、障害者雇用やゲームアクセシビリティに関するパネルディスカッションやワークショップも開催しています。
ePARA has developed its own competitions and teams, such as the "Mind's Eye Cup," a fighting game without visual information, and ePARA United, a wheelchair eSoccer team. ePARA also organizes panel discussions and workshops on employment of people with disabilities and game accessibility.

2022年5月28日には、「ePARA CARNIVAL 2022 SPRING」というイベントを開催しました。このイベントでは、心眼カップやePARAユナイテッドのエキシビジョンマッチのほか、セガサミーやバンダイナムコスタジオなどのゲームメーカーが参加して、ゲーム体験ブースやトークショーも行われました。
On May 28, 2022, an event called ePARA CARNIVAL 2022 SPRING was held. In addition to the Shin-Eye Cup and ePARA United exhibition matches, the event featured game makers such as Sega Sammy and Namco Bandai Studios, as well as game experience booths and talk shows.

このイベントの特徴は、運営や出演者が全て障害者であるということです。障害者が自ら企画し、主体的に参加し、自信を持って発信することで、社会に対してメッセージを届けることができました。
What makes this event unique is that all of the management and performers are people with disabilities. By having people with disabilities plan the event themselves, participate proactively, and communicate confidently, we were able to deliver our message to society.

また、このイベントはオンラインでも配信されました。オンラインでは、手話通訳や字幕などのアクセシビリティ対応も行われました。これにより、遠方や外出困難な方も気軽に参加することができました。
The event was also streamed online. Online accessibility support was provided, including sign language interpretation and subtitles. This made it easier for people who live far away or have difficulty getting out of the house to participate.

ePARA CARNIVAL 2022 SPRINGは、多くの人々に感動や驚きを与えるだけでなく、障害者の存在や貢献を認めることで、共生社会の実現に一歩近づくことができました。
The ePARA CARNIVAL 2022 SPRING not only impressed and surprised many people, but also brought us one step closer to the realization of a symbiotic society by recognizing the existence and contributions of people with disabilities.
