Iceland 10 days

家族で、アイスランドの1号線「リングロード」を一周するドライブ旅行に行ってきました。
全てホステルやアパートの自己手配&食事は基本自炊にしたら、出費はツアーの半額くらいにおさえられました。毎日の移動ルートや所要時間を細かく計算しつつも天候や道の状態を見て柔軟に対応する感じは、家族旅行というより山行計画を立てるのに似てました。
でも、実はこんなに長いロードトリップは初めてで。途中でバテないか不安でしたが、毎日絶景なので驚くほど元気に走り抜きました。子供たちも、いろんなワイルドライフに出会え、温泉プールで泳げて嬉しかった様子。家族みんなで「また違う季節に行きたいね」となってます。
そんな、旅の様子を少しづつレポートします。長いのでまず今回は全体感を１日１枚のハイライト写真とともに、どうぞ。
Day 01. 到着してすぐ大人気の青白い温泉「ブルーラグーン」に直行。さすがの名所、想像以上に楽しくて長居しちゃいました。
Day 02. 定番「ゴールデン・サークル」の名所巡り。シンクヴェリトル国立公園、ゲイシール間欠泉、グトルフォス（滝）。生きてる地球を感じました。
Day 03. 午前中は大雨の中、修行のような滝巡り。午後は天気が持ち直し「ブラックサンドビーチ」で、はじめてパフィンに出会いました。
Day 04. 氷河湖畔でピクニック。この写真の奥の方でアザラシが泳いでいました。「ダイアモンド・ビーチ」では海岸に流れ着いた氷塊に触れました。
Day 05. なんでもないとこで、何千・何万の白鳥の大群に遭遇。湖畔のおしゃれな「ヴォク・バス」を経て、青い教会のあるフィヨルドの村へ。
Day 06. 「ダイアモンド・サークル」の名所に寄りつつ、ホエール・ウォッチングのキャピタル、「フーサヴィーク」でクジラやイルカを観察しました。
Day 07. 朝一番に、第二の街・アークレイリの公営温泉プールでひと泳ぎしてから、のんびり長距離移動。ぜんぶ絶景。どこにでも羊。宿の前にも羊。
Day 08. 夕方、野鳥の楽園の断崖絶壁にハイキング。人を恐れないパフィンやウミガラスを間近に見て、悪路を越えて行った苦労が報われました。
Day09. フェリーに乗って運転時間を短縮しつつアザラシのコロニーへ。人がアザラシを観察するとき、アザラシもまた人を観察しているのです。
Day 10. あっという間の最終日、ロンドンに戻る前にスーパーで地元の美味しい保存食を仕入れたかったのに買い損ねました。また行かなきゃ。
毎日が夢のような絶景の連続でした。日本からは遠いのに何やら通じるものを感じる素晴らしい大地、チョーおすすめです。興味ある人の参考になるよう、少しづつ詳細を紹介していきたいと思います。

We embarked on a family adventure in Iceland and made the anti-clockwise road trip on the iconic Ring Road.
After researching popular tour itineraries, we opted for a more budget-friendly approach. We booked hostels and apartments directly and prepared most meals instead of eating out. While meticulously planning daily routes and sightseeing times, we remained flexible, adjusting our itinerary based on weather and road conditions on-site. This was less like a typical family vacation and more like a mountaineering expedition, which I love.
This was my first multi-day road trip. Despite initial concerns about fatigue, the daily dose of stunning landscapes kept our spirits high. Children were also thrilled to encounter diverse wildlife and swim in geothermal pools. Our family members all agreed that we'd love to come back again.
Here, I will share our unforgettable journey through daily highlights.
Day 01: Upon arrival, we headed straight to the iconic Blue Lagoon.
Day 02: Explored the "Golden-Circle"; Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss.
Day 03: Visit waterfalls in heavy rain, then encountered wild Puffins in the Black Sand Beach.
Day 04: Glacial lagoons and "Diamond Beach". We saw some wild seals from the parking!
Day 05: On the way to the Vok Baths, encountered a massive flock of thousands of hooper swans.
Day 06: Visited attractions of the "Diamond-Circle" and watched hampback whales in Húsavík.
Day 07: A morning swim followed by a long drive. breathtaking views and lovely sheep everywhere.
Day 08: Evening hike to Látrabjarg crif, the sanctuary of birds. Met puffins and guillemots closely.
Day 09. Visited a seal colony on the way back to Reykjavík. We watched them, they watched us.
Day 10: Our adventure ended too soon. We must visit Iceland again to buy local foods at the supermarket!
