' Face and Persona '
There are a lot of things around us that we tend to regard as a matter of course. But when we deeply think about them, we might realize how ignorant of them we are. If you have eyes to see, you probably know what a face is. But nothing is more mysterious than a face.
We can get along with others without knowing about their faces, for linguistic expressions such as letters and messages enable us to communicate with other people. But in such a case, we won't think they have no faces. We know that we are just ignorant of their faces.
In most cases, we unconsciously imagine their faces with the help of their attitudes expressed in letters and words. As long as we have never met others, their faces usually are vague and ambiguous. But when we actually meet them for the first time, their faces will have an impact of great significance on our mind, which makes us think about whether or not our initial impressions are right.
When we have known each other, we cannot think of each other without remembering each other's face.
When you glance at a picture and think of who has drawn it, it is probably be the face of the drawer that will firstly come to your mind.
When one of your friends comes to your mind, his or her face will appear on your mind, accompanied by his or her name.
To be sure, in addition to his or her face, something like their shoulders, their figures, and how they walk is associated with your memories. But you cannot eliminate their faces even when all of these factors are eliminated. Even when you cannot look at the face of your friend, you will be imagining his or her invisible face.
