茶道クルージング①　茶の湯と茶道

茶道と聞いてどんなイメージを持つでしょうか。
着物を着て抹茶を飲む。古風な人がするもの。正座をする堅苦しいもの・・・
茶道ってどんなものか、もしよければ一緒に探索していただけないでしょうか。
茶道ビギナーで、もっと茶道を知ってみたいなと思っています。

ずっと疑問に思っていたのですが、茶道と言う人もいれば、茶の湯と言う人もいます。どう違うのでしょうか、
１６代裏千家千宗室は以下のようにおっしゃっています。

一碗のお茶をまず自分が楽しみ、そしてその一碗を人と分かち合う一期一会の機会をもつことが“茶の湯”

一方、茶の湯を楽しむ一人ひとりが立ち止まって、自分の歩んできた道を振り返った際に、その道が利休居士に続いているということを確認すること、それが“茶道”なのです。

茶の湯は抹茶を通して、自分自身が、そして人との時間を“楽しむ”ことが本質。
茶道は利休の教えに向かって、修行を積み重ねていくことでしょうか。
家でちょっと点ててみる抹茶も含め、茶の湯の機会を大事に積み重ねていくことで、茶道につながっていければと思います。

I’ve just started to learn Japanese tea ceremony and would like to learn more about it.

Some people call tea ceremony Chanoyu, others call it the way of Japanese tea. What is the difference?
The tea ceremony grand master Sen Soshitsu, 16th generation of the Urasenke, said the following.

"Chanoyu is to enjoy a cup of Japanese green tea by yourself first, and then to share the time having a cup of Japanese green tea with others.

On the other hand, when each one of us who enjoys the Chanoyu stops to look back at the path we have taken, we can see that the path has been followed by Rikyu’s philosophy, and that is what the way of tea is all about.

Rikyu is the founder of the current Japanese tea ceremony in 16 century.
The essence of the Chanoyu is to enjoy yourself and time with others through Matcha.
I hope that by carefully accumulating opportunities to face Chanoyu, then I can lead to the way of Japanese tea.
