フランス語のgen d'armeは英語で"gentlemen of the army"、つまり"兵隊に属する紳士"の意味です。

2 ガルソン（或いはギャルソン）: 
ホテル・レストランなどの給仕。ボーイ
フランス語で元々は男の子の通称です、「坊主」や「坊や」の意味がする。
ここは騎士より中世のフランスの村に住む少年の一般的な呼び方ですが、
