the quoting devil a philosophical soliloquy 引用の悪魔 哲学独白
the quoting devil
"People"-Orc speaks authority
lineage-seeking again
quoting famous minds
cling-to and a ladder to climb
for topping, gold-status
wise, clever, humour
education, distinction
lewd canine laughing
cold ruminating
chewing Thinkers' cud
argue like children
lineage-seeking again
Bloodline of Idea and Fact
smoke-stack parents
hammering-ban and
hurried deletion-escape
before contenders
middle-age youth scouts by
net-fireside reciting more
class-talks or bed-stories.
the quoting devil
"People," Orc speaks authority :
"modern people, taught from paid tuitions,
was not endowed with philosophical thinking of their own---and thinks instead, each and every day
what they took as pity-alms, some firmer sayings or factual statements from famed scientists, writers or philosophers to cling to and climb
for topping, golden-status. distinguishment. nobility. rights to speak.
pathetic American-dreaming.
as Orc speaks
'wise, clever, humour
education, distinction
lewd canine laughing '
cold ruminators or rehashers of factual knowledge,
never doubting but repeating quotations,
lords and ladies who dwell in preface and text extracts.
textbook-quoting. reading assignment.
lewd canine laughing when they saw others who also got it---went to a school.
knowing no truth, desiring no clarification, doubting no falsehood.
'Ain't that so?'
lineage-seeking again
Bloodline of Idea and Fact
smoke-stack parents
hammering-ban and
hurried deletion-escape
before contenders
middle-age youth scouts by
net-fireside reciting more
class-talks or bed-stories."
I: Why must thou become like so, Orc, child of Man?
Orc: I desire warmth of Blood. I am an exsanguinated pig, slaughtered, frozen in Northen refrigerator's cold knowledge-hoard; waiting for my spring-ing time to come and ice to thaw---that day i shall from the corpse of swine to turn to dreaming butterflies---that day I die as beatified dreams.
I: then thou seekest blood, and sanguine things; thou desirest to become a flower. there is no substitute. life must be bloody.
thou art the son of Man without a brooking book.
flowers bloom in amethyst dumbness.
Orc: I have ink, and yellow leaves.
my heart is lively. red livery.
I: Ah, but I bemoan.
Seeing old boys and girls laugh like giddy children over trifles.
I wonder if God has yet again laid eternities to waste.
or perhaps I am doubting His Memories.
