wild は野生、野蛮、未開といった訳語があてられますが（風などが激しい場合にも使われます）、この歌では恐らく自然のままの、手付かずの、遠い昔からずっとあった、といったニュアンスなのだろうと思い、このような訳にしています。

作詞・作曲をしたMichael McGlynnはアイルランドのコーラスグループ・アヌーナを主催していますが、このグループは「中世アイルランドの世界を現代によみがえらせる」をコンセプトとしています。その言上げのようにも読める歌だな、と思います。
