日本茶専門店が醸しだす特別感
先日、銀座歌舞伎座屋上にある日本茶のお店「寿月堂」で小学校時代からの旧友とお昼ご飯をいただきました。
隈研吾さんの設計と聞いて、行きたかったお店です。お店の運営は「丸山海苔店」という海苔屋さん。嬉しいことにお茶だけでも予約ができます。
銀座の真ん中の歌舞伎座の屋上に、こんなにゆったりとお茶や軽食を楽しめるステキな空間があるとは知りませんでした。
日本庭園を見ながら「和」を楽しめる特別感が満載です。
着物が醸しだす特別感
この日約束していた友人は着物が大好きで、着物をもっといろいろな人に気軽に着てもらいたいと、普段でもさっと着られる工夫をいろいろ考えている人です。
「着物コンシェルジュ」と勝手に名付けてしまいました。
そんな彼女が着ていたのは、もうすぐ咲く桜の花を思わせる春色の着物。

東京国立近代美術館の展示予告で素敵だと思っていた桜とそっくりな色でした。
こちらの写真では残念ながら見えませんが、帯揚げはエルメスのスカーフ。
昔のものに今のものを加えて、古くて新しいスタイルの出来上がり。
友人によると、着物は帯や襟の色との組み合わせで無限に楽しめるとのこと。色合わせ、楽しそう。
彼女の姿を見て、着物はやはり華やかで特別感が出るものだと改めて思いました。
これまで敷居が高すぎて考えたことなどなかったのですが、私も着物が着てみたくなりました。
彼女にすっかり感化されたようです（笑）。

Old and New
Today was a sort of special lunch day with my friend from elementary school, Tomoko.
It was so special because she showed up in a beautiful cherry blossom-like Kimono, and we went to Jugetsudo Ginza Kabukiza, a teahouse I had been wishing to visit for a long time.
The teahouse featuring bamboo was designed by Kengo Kuma, a world-renowned architect, and commands a great view of a Japanese garden next door.
The serene environment made us forget that we were in the middle of downtown Tokyo.
Tomoko, a Kimono Concierge, fell in love with Kimono quite a long time ago. She loves Kimono so much that she wants more people to wear Kimono and with that wish in her mind, she has devised various ways of wearing Kimono more easily.
Although my photo doesn’t show it, she uses a Hermes scarf for an Obi-age (fabric used to secure an Obi pillow to the body to give a three-dimensional shape to an Obi knot).
She exercises her ingenuity in teaming up something old with something new. By doing so, Kimono becomes more attractive and suitable for our modern-day life.
Tomoko says we can enjoy Kimono in innumerable ways by just changing the colors of Obi (a broad sash) and Eri (a collar).
Her love and passion for Kimono are so infectious. Obviously, I somehow begin to think about wearing Kimono myself.
