光をボカす　Seeking light in the background

日差しが強くなり、河面が眩しく光っていました。その横に白い小さな花が咲いていました。姫女苑という花らしいです。

The sun was getting stronger and the river was shining brightly. A small white flower was blooming next to it. It seems to be a flower called Himejoen.

花を撮影したかったのです。そしてその花をどう見せようかと考えながらでした。青空をバックにというのはよくやる手法です。同じ花をバックでボカすというのもよくやります。辺り一面に咲いている情景を演出できるからです。他の色の花をバックにするというのも面白いです。カラフルな写真が出来上がります。

I wanted to shoot a flower. And I was thinking about how to show the flower. Backing against the blue sky is a common technique. I often blur the same flower in the background. This is because it can produce a scene that is blooming all around. It is also interesting to use flowers of other colors as the background. A colorful photograph is completed.

タイトルの写真ですが河面のきらめきが気になっていました。河面だけを撮影したりもしていました。

Although it is a photograph of the title, I was worried about the glitter of the river surface. I also photographed only the river surface.

露出を抑えて暗く撮影することでこういう写真が撮影できます。しかし、面白みに欠けています。

You can take pictures like this by reducing the exposure and shooting darkly. However, it lacks fun.

そこで背景にきらめきを利用してみようと撮影した一枚がこれです。なかなかうまくいきました。これでf値が８です。

So this is the one I took to try using the glitter in the background. It worked quite well. The f value is now 8.

この写真でf値が4.5です。ボケている光の点が変化します。悪くはありませんが強くなってきている日差しを意識しているのに淡い感じが出てしまっています。

In this photo, the f value is 4.5. The point of blurred light changes. It's not bad, but I'm conscious of the rising sun, but I feel a faint feeling.

さらにf値を2.5に調整してみました。ボケすぎです。f値が８から９がちょうど良い数値でしょうか。

I also adjusted the f value to 2.5. It's too blurry. Is f value 8 to 9 just right?

その場でこうやって色々試して見ることができるのがデジタルカメラの利点の一つです。マニュアルで様々な設定値を試してみることで自分の表現したいものが見えてくる事もあります。

One of the advantages of digital cameras is that you can try and see them on the spot. Sometimes you can see what you want to express by trying various setting values manually.

日々、実験ですね。

It's an experiment every day.

しかし、光を撮影したいのか。それとも花を撮影したいのか。

But do I want to shoot the light? Or do I want to shoot flowers?
