海外ルーツの高校生 進学のヒント#6 ［定時制→専門学校/家族滞在］

今回は定時制高校から専門学校に入学したD.Dさんの進路体験を紹介します！

1月末に面接がありました。
筆記試験があると思っていたけどありませんでした。
学費の工面（受験料・入学金・大学の学費）
受験料、入学金は半分は父からサポートしてもらい、もう半分は自分のこれまでのアルバイト代で支払いました。入学金合わせて32万円でした。今後の学費は親がサポートしてくれる予定です。
進路を決めるまでにしたこと
将来はIT業界で働きたいと思っていたので、高校で先生から色々なIT学校を教えてもらいました。そこからいくつか気になる専門学校を選び、日本工学院と東京電子専門学校のオープンキャンパスにいきました。2校を比較し、東京電子専門学校の新宿キャンパスの方がアクセスが良いのと、就職活動に力を入れている点が気に入ったので東京電子専門学校の方を受験しようと決めました。またオープンキャンパスでの説明もとてもわかりやすくて気に入りました。
進学を考えている時に就職も考えたけど、もっと勉強したかったしもっと知識が必要だと思ったから専門学校の進学を選びました。
進路を決めてから準備したこと
特に大きな準備はしてないです。
面接は説明会の後に急に行うことになったから、特に面接練習とかはしなかったです。友達にきいたら、他の学科は面接や試験がしっかりあったみたいだけど、ネットワークセキュリティー学科はなかったみたいです。
高校生活について
あんまり変わらなかったです。一応、卒業試験があって、試験が終わってからは学校に行かなくてよかったです。卒業試験の出来はまあまあでした。
2年生の時は体調不良で欠席していたから卒業が少し心配でしたが、課題を頑張って、OKをもらいました。
今の生活とこれからについて
専門学校では17時50分から授業で、コロナの影響でほとんどがオンライン授業の予定です。たまに対面授業があり、その時だけ学校に行きます。午前中はアルバイトして夕方から学校のスケジュールになる予定です。
読んでくれている人に一言！
受験の前から日本語（漢字）とかの勉強はしておくべきだと思います。あとは、わからないことはすぐに聞く、わからないままにしないことが大事だと思っています。
私が伝えたいことは、学校選びをするときに専門学校や大学が提供していることに自分が合わせるよりも、自分自身が学びたいことを学べる方を選ぶべきです。誠実に、自分自身を信じれるような学業を学んだほうがいいと思います。

This series introduces career experiences collected by interviewing high school students with various roots. I hope it will be a hint when you make decisions for your course.
I also hope that supporters and those who are interested in children and youth with overseas roots will learn what they are thinking and how they are developing their careers.
In this article, I'd like to share the career experience of D.D., who entered a vocational school from a regular high school!

Residential Status: Family stay visa (I want to work and then get a work visa). I moved to Japan when I was 15 years old and went to an international school, then graduated from a night-time junior high school.

I had an interview at the end of January.
I thought there would be a written test, but there was none.
Working out school expenses (exam fees, entrance fees, and university tuition)
My father supported me with half of the examination and entrance fees, and I paid the other half with my part-time job. The total enrollment fee was 320,000 yen. My parents are planning to support my future tuition.
What I did before deciding on a career path
I wanted to work in the IT industry in the future, so my teachers at Asuka High School told me about various IT schools. I chose a few vocational schools that I was interested in and went to the open campuses of Nihon Kogakuin College and Tokyo Electronics College. After comparing the two schools, I decided to apply to the Shinjuku campus of Tokyo Electronics College because it was easier to get to from my home, and I liked that they focused on career placement. I also liked the explanations at the open campus because they were very easy to understand.
When I was thinking about going on to higher education, I thought about getting a job, but I wanted to learn more and I thought I needed more knowledge, so I chose to go to a vocational school.
What did you do to prepare after deciding on your career path?
I didn't do any major preparation.
The interview was scheduled suddenly after the briefing session, so I didn't do any interview practice. My friends told me that other departments had interviews and exams, but not the Network Security Department.
About high school life
It didn't change much. I didn't have to go to school after the graduation exam. My performance on the graduation exam was okay. I was a little worried about graduating because I had been absent last year due to illness, but I worked hard on my assignments and got the OK from my teacher.
Life now and the future
At the vocational school, I have classes at 5:50 p.m. Most of the classes are scheduled online due to COVID-19. Occasionally, there will be face-to-face classes, and I will only go to school on those occasions. I plan to work part-time in the morning and go to school in the evening.
A word to the people reading this!
I think you should study Japanese (Kanji) and other things even before university or vocational school preparations. I also think it's important to ask immediately if you don't understand something, and not to leave things unanswered.
What I would like to tell you is that when you are choosing a school, you should choose the one where you can learn what you want to learn, rather than adapting yourself to what the vocational school or university is offering. I think it is better to be sincere and learn something that you can believe in yourself.

在决定我的未来的时候我做了什么

我没有做任何特别的准备。
我没有任何面试练习，因为面试是在说明会之后突然决定开始的。我的朋友告诉我，其他学科有正式的笔试和面试，但网络安全学科没有。
关于高中生活
考试完之后并没有什么太大的变化。毕业考试结束之后，我不用再去学校了。我在期末考试中表现得还不错。但是我对毕业有点担心，因为我去年生过病。在我努力完成了作业，老师也表扬了我。
关于你现在和未来的生活
在职业学校，我们一般都是从下午5点50分开始上课。由于新冠肺炎的原因，大部分课程将在网上进行。偶尔会有面授课程，可以去学校上课。我一般都是在早上做兼职，晚上上课。
你想对读者说什么？
我认为最好能够在备考之前就学习日语（汉字）。 此外，我认为重要的是，如果你有不懂的地方应该马上问别人，不要让不懂的地方一直不懂。
还有，当你选择大学的时候，最好能以你想学到的东西为基础来选择学校，而不是让自己适应学校。 最好是能够学习一些你自己相信能做到的东西。
