大都会の写経場に通う人びと。【NHK ドキュメント72時間より】　 People who go to the place to copy the sutra in the big city. [From NHK document 72 hours]

一昨夜、NHKの番組「ドキュメント72時間」を観た。ご存じの方も多い人気番組である。72時間、ある事にかかわる人たちを紹介していく、ちょっとユニークな番組として定着している。

今回は、大都会のお寺の写経場に通う人たちを3日間通しで紹介していた。
中学受験を控える小学生とその母親、霞ヶ関の公務員の青年たち、夜勤明けのタクシードライバー、出勤前の山手線の車掌さん、そしてご主人の法事を済ませ駆けつけたご婦人などなど老若男女さまざまの人たちが登場していた。その場所というのが、五反田にある薬師寺の東京別院の写経場である。

Was appearing. That place is the copying the sutra of the Tokyo Betsuin of Yakushi-ji Temple in Gotanda.

 
写経をするのは人それぞれ理由があるだろうが、共通して感じられたことは「心を整える」時間になっているようだ。墨をすって、小筆で276文字を一気に書いていく。1時間ほど集中する。終わったあとは不思議とスッキリして帰れる、という声があった。日常にはない、一服の心の安定剤としての時間を楽しんでいるかのようだった。
 
There may be reasons for each person to copy the sutra, but what they felt in common seems to be the time to "prepare their minds." Squeeze the ink and write 276 characters at once with a small brush. Concentrate for about an hour. There was a voice saying that after it was over, I can go home with a strange refreshment. It was as if they were enjoying thire time as a breathing stabilizer, which is not in everyday life.
