まもなくiPhone 12の発表（と噂されている）Appleイベントですね。日本時間で2020年10月14日午前2時からスタートです。

今回もオンライン発表会です。アップルが渾身のムービーを駆使してプレゼンテーションしてくれるので、見ていてとても楽しい！映像も綺麗。

私は仕事とプライベートで２台のiPhoneを常に持ち歩いており、1年ごと交互に買い替えをしています。

本来ならば2019年に発表されたiPhone 11を購入予定でしたが……。

カメラ機能の向上以外にあまり魅力を感じなかったこと、2020年発表のiPhoneで5G対応が予想されていることから、買い替えをしませんでした。

後から考えると、iPhone 11の広角レンズは撮影にすごく便利で、めちゃくちゃ欲しいと思いました。
そのことに気がついたのは発売から半年経ってから（遅い）……「あと半年我慢すれば新型が出る……」と我慢を続けてきました。

なので来週のApple発表会はすごく楽しみなんです。

噂ではiPhone12 miniという名称らしい。
なんとiPhone SEよりも小型の本体になるんだとか。

しかし、先日発表されたiPad Air 4の電源ボタン埋め込み指紋認証システムがiPhone 12にも搭載されるかもしれません。ていうか搭載してくれ！

もし搭載されたとすると、iPhoneSEの優位性は失われますが、"新機能をカットしたぶん、廉価版で買いやすいiPhone”という立ち位置にもどります。そのほうがライナップとしては綺麗かなって思います。

Appleとしては、フラグシップであるiPhoneに最新機能を搭載したいはずです。

それがiPad ProですらないAirに先に搭載されたわけですから、やはりiPhone12シリーズにも備えてくると思います。じゃないと立つ瀬がない。

発表のタイミングは流通や生産の都合もあってずれちゃったけれど、本当は同時に発表したかったんじゃないかなと思います。

（ちなみに2020年は11月にもう1回発表会があって、そこでARM搭載Macが公開されると予想されています）。

ポケットに入っていることを忘れるくらい軽くて小さいiPhoneが欲しい

Apple発表会をみて、気兼ねなく持ち歩くための小さいサイズを求めているのであれば、miniを選ぶのがよいでしょう。

逆に基本的にテーブルに置きっぱなしにして、ゲームや動画を楽しみたい場合(出張や移動が多くない、デスクワーク中心の人)であれば、Pro Maxが向いていると思います。

毎日通勤するから持ち運びするけれど、1つのiPhoneで完結させたい人は、iPhone12もしくは12Pro。おそらくこの2つの違いはカメラ性能がメインと思われます(望遠レンズがつくかつかないか)。

私は今のところiPhone12 miniを買うつもりだけれど、12Proにするかもしれない。
