My experiences in NZ #33
Hello there.
In my last blog, I mentioned applying for a Japanese restaurant as a waitress.
I’d love to continue from where I ended.
I contacted the Japanese restaurant and assigned the interview date. The name of the restaurant was “Rikka.” Its owner was a Japanese couple running two or three restaurants in Auckland then.
The interview was held at the other restaurant near Victoria park, different from where I wanted to work. However, I adopted as a waitress for the restaurant where I desired. It was next to the cafe I often visited with my schoolmates and familiar with me. I started working at lunchtime.
As I used to it, I also started working at dinner time. Although I didn't have enough knowledge of NZ wine, it didn’t matter. Especially dinner, they ordered wine, so I needed to open a bottle of wine. I didn’t have a wine opener called a sommelier’s knife. Of course, I bought it at “that” liquor shop where my friend worked.
Talking of Rikka, unfortunately, these had closed. That’s a shame.
That’s all for today, and to be next time. See you around.
