November 29, 2023: Studying Maths (29), Algebraic Division （数学の勉強（29）、代数の除算）

I have just finished algebraic division. It was very hard for me to understand. And it took me a longer time than usual to understand it. For starters, I had a couple of terms which I did not know. For example:
Degree: the highest power of x in the polynomial
Divisor: this is the thing by which is divided
Quotient: the stuff that you get when you divide by the divisor (not including the remainder).
Remainder: the stuff that is left after one number has been divided into another
Even if I meant to have understood these terms, it was not good enough to understand the whole of algebraic division. I still had to make more effort to understand it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and had no intention to give it up. I still have my motivation to learn maths.

　代数の除算を終えたところです。難しく、いつも以上に時間がかかりました。そもそも、知らない英語の用語がいくつかありました。例えば、
　次数：多項式における最大の乗数。
　除数：除算の分母。
　商：　除数で割ったときに得られるもの（余りは含まない）。
　余り：ある数を別の数で割った後に残るもの。
　これらの用語を理解したつもりでも、除算全体を理解するには不十分で、更に勉強する必要がありました。とはいえ、楽しかったし、あきらめるつもりはありませんでした。今でも依然として数学を学ぶ意欲はあります。
