October 16, 2024: Studying Maths (67), Statistical Sampling（数学の勉強（67）、標本調査）

For a week, I have been working on statistical sampling. It was not as hard to understand as I expected. So, I managed to finish it. The topic reminded me of what I had learnt at the department of quality control. There, I learnt a lot of statistical approaches for quality control. But what I had learnt is outdated, as I learnt them a very long time ago, about 40 years ago. In fact, what I have just learnt for the last week was different from what I learnt about 40 years ago. But it still reminded me of what I had learnt about 40 years ago.

　この1週間、標本調査について勉強しました。思っていたほど難しくはなく、なんとかやり終えることができました。これに取り組んでいたとき、品質管理部門で学んだことを思い出しました。そこでは、品質管理のための統計的手法をたくさん学びました。でも、ボクが学んだことは、大昔の40年前だったので、時代遅れになっていました。実際、先週学んだばかりのことは、約40年前に学んだこととはまったく違いました。それでも40年前に学んだことが思い浮かびました。
