制作されつつ上映される映画『NUFONIA MUST FALL』　A movie that is screening while showing the production stage

開演前のステージ場にはあらかじめ「The End」が存在していた。
これだけでニヤつき、面白いことが起こると確信した。

"The End" had already existed on the stage before the performance.

開場中、舞台を自由に撮影できるというのもユニーク。

『NUFONIA MUST FALLは、DJ、音楽プロデューサー、作曲家、グラフィック小説家であるKid Koala(キッドコアラ)と美術監督のK・K・バレット監督による、「マルチメディア パペットショー」』だ。

舞台上で約90分ワンカットで制作されながら上映される映画であり、観客である私たちは制作現場という「舞台」と、完成した「映画」を同時に観ることになる。

主役であるパペットの演技の撮影はもちろん、音楽と効果音、セリフや歌までがその場で収録＝上映される。

言葉で表現するの難しいのだけれど、この動画を見ると雰囲気わかるかも。

It is unique that you can freely shoot the stage while it is open.

"NUFONIA MUST FALL" is a "multimedia puppet show" by DJ, music producer, composer, graphic novelist Kid Koala and artistic director KK Barrett.

It is a movie that is produced while being produced in one cut on the stage for about 90 minutes.And as audience, we will watch the “play” of the Production process and the completed “movie” at the same time.

In addition to shooting the puppet's performance, music and sound effects, dialogue and songs will be recorded and screened on the spot.

「感情」を演じるDJ、ストリングス、照明
DJ, strings, and lights that play "emotions"

映画は、ロボット博士の女性と、新型ロボットに仕事を奪われた旧型ロボットの恋物語。

The movie is a love story between a  robot doctor and an old robot whose work was taken away by a new robot.

ーえ、ありきたりじゃない？

と思われたのではないだろうか。

「映画」のストーリーは単純であるが、私たちには同時に観るべき「舞台」もあるのだ。
これでストーリーも複雑だったら情報パンクして、観劇不可能かもしれない。

昔、舞台にかかわる仕事をしていたこともあり、裏方の動きが見れるのはとても楽しい。
見切れないように最新の注意を払うのが常だったのでー知り合いに見切れることで愛されているダンシングローディーはいるけど（笑）ー、超逆転の発想である。

ここで書くのは、「映画」ではなく「舞台」の感想である。

パペットは表情を動かすことができないため、基本的に能面だ。

役者の「動き」を演じるのはもちろん、パペットーそれを操る一心同体の人形使いも含むーであるが、加えて「感情」を演じていたのは音、そして光だった。

凄腕DJでもあるKid Koalaにより動作音にスクラッチが使われたり、自信を取り戻してロボットが闊歩するシーンでは思わずタテノリしてしまうようなDJテクニックも披露され、これだけでもショーとして成立するくらい斬新。

なんと登場人物全員のセリフもKid Koalaが演じ分けるという多才ぶり。
同時に、録音したライブ演奏をその場でサンプリング（多分。あんま詳しくないから違うかも）すらしてたの恐るべし。

-Isn't it ordinary story?

You would have thought so.
The story of a "movie" is simple, but we also have a "Play" to watch at the same time.
If the story is complicated, it may be impossible to watch.

I was work on the Stage production a long time ago, so it's really fun to see behind the scenes.
We always took the latest attention so that we could not see from the audience（As an exception I know dancing roadie that are loved by people),it's a super-reversal idea.

What I write here is not the "movie" but the impression of the "Play".

Puppets are basically Noh masks because they cannot move their expressions.

It is the puppet who plays the actor's "movement", including the puppeteer who manipulates it. In addition, sound and light played the "emotion".

Kid Koala, who is also a great DJ, uses scratches in the  sound of the robot moving.And in the scene where the robot regained its confidence and walked, His DJ techniques that makes me on beat.

Kid Koala plays the lines of all the characters. He is versatile！！
At the same time, he was surprised because he sampled live recordings on the spot.（Maybe.I am not familiar… ）

また、感情表現にストリングスの音色はとても有効で、ロボットの動作音もストリングスや、名前のわからない楽器ーちょっと間の抜けた音がするやつーで表現される。
そういえば、『風の谷のナウシカ』王蟲の声も、布袋寅泰のギターだったりするな。「ギターを泣かす」って表現もあるね。

演奏だけでなく弦楽四重奏楽団Afiara Quartetの面々の、笑ったり悲しい顔をしたりパペットに同調して変わる表情も感情表現に加わっていた。

音響ともう一つ、感情表現に用いられていたのが照明ーそれも大掛かりなものではなくスタンドライトーだ。

下から照らせば口角が上がっているように見えたり、影を落とせば悲しく見えたり、まるでパペットが演技しているように見えたのは興味深かった。

照明は、窓の外を走る車のライトの表現にも使われていた。

Speaking of which, the voice of Ohmu from "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" is the guitar of Tomoyasu Hotei.
There is also an expression that 「makes the guitar cry」.

Not only the performance, but also the expression of the members of the string quartet 「Afiara Quartet」, laughing, sad faces and changing in synchrony with the puppet, also participated in the expression of emotion.

Lighting was also used to express emotions. It's a stand light, not a big one.
It was interesting to see that the corners of the mouth were raised when illuminated from the bottom, sad faces are made of shadows, and as if the puppet were acting.
Lighting was also used to express the lights of cars running outside windows.

過去を観るか？今を観るか？未来を観るか？
Which one we choose and watch.The past, present or future?

面白かったのは、過去のシーンと上映中の現在のシーン、未来のシーンが舞台上に同時に存在すること。

観客は、上映中の「映画」を観ることはもちろん、
照明が落ちた演じ終えられたシーンを見ながら余韻に浸ることもできるし、スタッフによって準備されつつある未来のシーンを観ながら次の展開を想像することもできる。

巻き戻し、一時停止、早送りを自分の目で操作しているような感覚だろうか。
初めての観劇、そして映画鑑賞体験だった。

Audience not only watches the "movie" being shown,
We can immerse yourself in the lingering memory while watching the scene where the lights are down, or you can imagine the next development while watching the future scene being prepared by the staff.

Is it like rewinding, pausing, or fast-forwarding with my own eyes?
This was a movie I never experienced.

セットが東京公演仕様になっているのにも感動した。

抽象化された東京のまちが面白い。
「大きな会社」、わかる（笑）。

主役のロボット博士、マロリーの家は六本木ヒルズの上層階、
海外旅行を申し込むのはエイチ・アイ・エス。

まちを読み取る能力、すごいな。

Kid KoalaのTwitterには公演が行われた、大阪と渋谷のまちを歩く様子が上がっていて、まるでショートムービーのようだ。

I was impressed that the set was designed for the Tokyo performance.

The abstracted Tokyo city is interesting.
I sympathize with the expression "large company".

The Protagonist Dr. Mallory's house is on the upper floor of Roppongi Hills,
Travel agency is H.I.S.
They have excellent ability to read the city.

渋谷も捨てたもんじゃないと思わせる。泣ける。

フィールドワークから得たイメージがセットに落とされていることがわかる。

劇中では『赤いスイートピー』も演奏された。
バカンスの計画のシーンだったのでそこ『青い珊瑚礁』じゃねって心の中でツッコミも入れつつ。

演じられる国やまちへのリスペクトや取り入れ方、とても感動した。

I can see that the images obtained from the field work are being used in the set.

"Red Sweet Pea", a love song from a famous Japanese singer Seiko Matsuda, was played.
I thought that "Blue Coral Reef" sung by the same singer would be more suitable for the vacation planning scene.
I was very impressed with the respect for Japan and the city.

なぜスタッフでもない観客である私がこのような写真を持っているのか、種明かしをしようと思う。

そう、特筆すべきなのは終演後だ。

なんと、ステージ場が開放され、たった今上映された映画の「ミュージアム」となったのだ。

What I should mention is after the show.
Incredibly, the stage was opened. It has just become a "museum" for the movie that was shown.

私たちはセットを間近に見、パペットを操っていた人形使いさんと会話することができる。気さくな方たちで、ロビーでは新型ロボットに絡まれた（笑）。

そして、その様子は「舞台」、「映画」として現れる。

「映画」は制作過程を見せながら「舞台」としてあけすけにされたが、終演後にはその「舞台」すらあけすけにされる。

どころか、「SNSデカクサンシテクダサイ」とまで告げられる。
私たちは好きなシーンを撮影し、持ち帰ることすらできるのだ。
※もちろん上演中は撮影禁止

We can see the set so close. We can talk with the puppeteer. They were friendly and I was played with a new robot in the lobby.
And the appearance that the audience is on the stage appears as "play" and "movie".

"Movie" was shown as "play" while showing the production process.
After the show, the "play" was openly displayed as a "museum".
They said, "Please post on SNS".
We can even shoot the scenes we like and even take them home!

ロボットの部屋、黒川紀章の「中銀カプセルタワービル」みがある。

セットの細部はもちろん、私たちは魂の抜けたパペットが床にあるのを見るし、劇中で「雲」だった棒の先の棉を見るし、主人公にぶつかってきた「固い障害物」だったはずのティッシュの塊も見る。

The robot's room is like Kisho Kurokawa's "Nakagin Capsule Tower Building".

We see a soulless puppet on the floor.We see the cotton that was the "cloud" in the play.We See a tissue that should have been a "hard obstacle" that has hit the hero.

そして、人形の動力の正体すら見る。
We can know the secret that the doll moves.

スケートのシーンの動き「知っている！」と思ったので答え合わせに裏を覗き込むと正解！　昔遊んだことのあるおもちゃと同じ仕掛けである丸磁石がそこにあった。

Skating scene. I thought it was the movement I saw. It was a toy that I used to play with a round magnet when I was a child.

ロビーで絡まれた手がたくさんあるロボットも昔ながらの日本のおもちゃ、でんでん太鼓と同じ仕組みだ。
劇中ではおどろおどろしかったのに、可愛らしく存在に変わる。

The movement of the new robot is the same as the traditional Japanese toy "Denden Taiko".
It was horrible during the play, but nostalgic when I saw it nearby.

これらのあけすけな精神からは、
制作することの楽しさがストレートに伝わってきたし、
「あなたにもすぐできるよ、やらないの？」と
ハッパをかけられているようにも感じた。

創造はいつでも私の手の中にある。

These open minds have given me straightforward fun of creating.
"You can do it right away. Why don't you try it?"
I felt like I was being asked．

Creation is always in my hands.

日本公演は終わってしまったのけれど、香港でも上演されるので行けるなら絶対観た方がいいやつです。
