Time to shift - from solidifying to redefining
Nicholas Campion, a British historian and astrologer, describes astronomy as "the law of the stars", while astrology is "the word (logos) of the stars" (2008). According to the word, a planet called Pluto indicates that yesterday, 20 November, we turned the page on a new chapter in human history.
From a geocentric perspective, Pluto, the most distant planet in the Solar System, has moved from Capricorn to Aquarius (on the Western astrological map of the sky). It will never return to Capricorn in our lifetimes, as it takes 249 years for Pluto to circle the 12 signs of the zodiac. This indicates a significant shift in the quality of society and the world.
How does it affect your everyday life?
The new chapter isn't entirely unknown. Before and during the last time Pluto was in Aquarius, between 1778 and 1798, new ideas and concepts such as human rights, science and capitalism spread rapidly throughout the Western world. This led to major revolutions, including the French, American and Industrial Revolutions.
From 2008 until yesterday, Pluto was in the sign of Capricorn, the element of the Earth, which symbolises authority, hierarchy, structure, organisation, tradition, rules and responsibility. The Earth element is about the tangible, the stable and the material world. What ideas and concepts have humanity developed over the past 249-year of Pluto's cycle? What are no longer sustainable?
The sign we are moving into is Aquarius, the element of Air, which symbolises freedom, individualism, idealism, advanced technology, space, revolution and community. The sign urges the 'status quo' to be shocked and often destroyed to make way for the new.
What's more, we've already been living in the era since 2020. What happened since 2020? Particularly, what happened in your life around 23 March - 10 June 2023 and 20 January - 1 September 2024? What did you do, think and feel during these times? These periods have shown you the quality of your new chapter.
What can we prepare for the new chapter?
The quality of Earth is to be concrete, solid, unchangeable, materialise, build up, etc. while the quality of Air is to be abstract, conceptual, logical, intellectual, thinking, information, communication, lightness, fluctuating, etc.
In the next 20 years we will be in the quality of Air. This means that we are being asked to redefine the various basic 'concepts' that we have unconsciously accepted for many years.
In 2020, we have been forced to redefine the way we live, work and communicate with people. Taking the newly invented vaccine and wearing face masks have created obvious divisions between people, whether they believe it or not. This experience has been an exercise for us to reflect and come up with our own resolutions.
At the end of 2024 and in 2025, Sky indicates that such exercises in social issues will increase rapidly, and we are urged to use our own discretion, not that of others. This will require us to question and rethink our everyday status quo, rather than blindly following and leaving decisions to others such as authorities, intellectuals and the media.
In the Age of Aquarius (Air) there will be no universally correct or universally accepted answers, and it may be futile to search for the right answer. Also, what you or others think is right may change quickly. No one can take responsibility. What we need to make sure of is that we choose with our best discretion at the time and feel responsible for our own choices. In other words, if you're not convinced, don't allow or follow, no matter what authorities, intellectuals and the media say.
