しゃぼん玉に「どすん」と言うと数センチみんなそろって急降下する　　　
     When I call out “Thud!”
     To soap bubbles, they all plummet
     A few centimetres

私の中にはサイズが少しずつ小さな私が何体もいる　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
     Inside me, I have
     A number of me’s which are
     Slightly smaller in size

蛙たちが押しくらまんじゅうしていたり仲間を胴上げしていたりする　　　　　　
     Sometimes the frogs play
     Shove and push; sometimes they toss
     One of them in the air

亀たちが甲羅の上に一個ずつボールを載せて落とさずに歩く　　　　　　　　　　
     Each tortoise has a ball
     On its shell. The ball somehow
     Never rolls down

昨日から私は私でなくなった気がします　どうもそのようですね　　　　　　　　
     “Since yesterday I have
     Not been myself, it seems.”
     “It looks like so, indeed”

私の姿はたまに人間ではないものになる　だから隠れる　　　　　　　　　　　　
     Without my intention,
     My figure becomes inhuman,
     So I have to hide at times

タンバリンを頭にかぶった人々が私にも一つかぶせようとする　　　　　　　　　
     The people who have
     Tambourines on their heads try
     To put one on mine

私を閉じこめている四角形をぐいぐい押して円に近づける　　　　　　　　　　　
     I press the rectangle
     Hard which confines me, to make it
     Closer to a circle

罰として身長を倍にされてしまい何をするにもとても不便だ　　　　　　　　　　
     As punishment, they have
     Doubled my height. It is
     Too inconvenient

たくさんのジャガイモたちが宇宙へと飛び去りジャガイモ不足になった　　　　　
     Lots of potatoes flew
     Off into space, which has caused
     A potato shortage

あまりにも風が強いとロウソクの炎のようにぱっと消える人　　　　　　　　　　
     If the wind is too strong,
     The person will vanish
     Like a candle flame

空中を飛び回っているリンゴが二個しばらくの間にらみ合っていた　　　　　　　
     Two of the flying
     Apples stared at each other
     In the air for a while

その猫が撫でられる時私も撫でられている感覚がある　　　　　　　　　　　　　
     When the cat is stroked,
     I feel as if I were
     Being stroked, too

煙突が上の方からすぱすぱとスライスされて輪が飛んでいく　　　　　　　　　　
     From the top downwards,
     The chimney is sliced and
     The rings fly away

オリオン座の帯の星たちは三重唱　他の星たちはダンス担当　　　　　　　　　　
     Of Orion,
     The three in the belt are singers;
     The others are dancers

本を持って揺すると文字がそれぞれの場所でしばらくふらふら揺れる　　　　　　
     When you shake a book,
     The letters in it continue
     To sway for a while
