↑高い空を飛んでいる飛行機は白く、半分透き通っているように見えます。↑An airplane flying high in the sky looks white and half-transparent.

真っ白な銀河が分裂　赤い銀河、青い銀河と、緑の銀河へ　　　　　　　　　　　　
     A white galaxy has
     Split into a red one, a blue
     One and a green one

空じゅうの星がそろって点滅を始める　しかもだんだん速く　　　　　　　　　
     All the star in the sky
     Have begun flashing on and off,
     Gradually faster

もう一人私がいて世間へは一日一日交替で出る　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
     We take turns going out
     Into the world day by day
     I and another “I”

首がなく胴体と足と尻尾だけの虎が私を追いかけてくる　　　　　　　　　　　　
     I am being chased
     By a headless tiger, which has
     A trunk, legs, and a tail

群がって飛び回ったり電線に並んだりしている紙飛行機　　　　　　　　　　　　
     The paper planes fly
     Around in a flock or perch
     On a power line

黒い虹が空に架かったが不吉なので誰もが見えていない振りをする　　　　　　
     A black rainbow is
     Too bad an omen, and people
     Pretend not to see it

顕微鏡でのぞいてごらん　うようよと人間たちが動いているよ 
     Look through a microscope
     At innumerable humans
     Squirming around

どうしても出て行かないと言うのなら下剤を飲んで追い出すまでだ 
     If you would not go out,
     I can drive you out, taking
     A purgative

足首を縛られたように足をそろえぴょんぴょん跳ねて行き交う人々　　　　　
     They all go leaping,
     With their legs abreast, as if
     Their ankles were tied

世界中の方位磁針が私をN極として指すようになった 
     All the compasses
     In the world now point to me
     As the N-pole

誰も彼も頭にヒトデを乗せている　そしてヒトデに操られている 
     Everyone has
     A starfish on their head, and
     Is controlled by it

点滅もあんまり速くなってくると点滅してないように見えてくる 
     If a light goes
     On and off too fast, it looks like
     On continually

大ヤカン二個と数個の小ヤカンが家族のように池に浮いている 
     A pair of large kettles
     And smaller ones are on the pond
     Like a family

真っ黒な雪が降ってきて積もるのだが溶けると普通の透明な水 
     Black snow falls and covers
     The ground, but when it thaws,
     The snowmelt is limpid

その二つの紙飛行機は並んで飛び休むときにも並んで休む 
     The two paper planes
     Fly side by side on their journey,
     And rest together

黒い球が空のあちこちに現れて呼吸するようにふくらんで縮む 
     Black spheres are swelling
     And contracting in the sky
     As if breathing

人のいない場所からくしゃみが聞こえるという現象は気にせずにおこう 
     Let’s ignore the sneezes
     Which are heard from the space
     Where no one is

指先から光り始めた　手から腕、胴、頭部、足へ拡がる光 
     First, the fingertips
     Began to shine, and the light spread
     To the head and the legs

書棚から歩き出す本　本たちがみな出払うと棚が歩き出す 
     From a bookshelf, books
     Walk away, and when all have gone,
     The shelf begins to walk

誰も彼も黒い息を吐く　黒い息はすぐ薄まって目に見えなくなる 
     Everyone exhales
     Black breath, which soon gets dilute
     And then invisible

檻の中にいる私と檻の外で私を見ている私がいる 
     I am in a cage.
     Another “I” look from outside
     At the encaged me

人類は滅びたけれど起き上がった骸骨たちで賑わっている 
     Humans have perished,
     But their skeletons have got up
     And enlivened the earth

消しゴムでこすって身体を消していく　自分で消せない部分は残る 
     I erase myself
     With india rubber, except
     Around my hand

君のこぼす黒い涙は頬を伝う間に蠅になって飛び去る 
     You shed black tears,
     Some of which, while trickling down,
     Flew away as flies

百匹の猫が一斉に魚屋へ押し寄せ魚を奪って逃げた
     A hundred cats
     Raided a fish shop together,
     Taking all fish away

一跳びで二十メートル跳ぶ人がぴょーんぴょーんと向こうから来る 
     A person comes leaping,
     Who can jump in a leap
     Twenty metres

ひまわりが何千本も合体し大ひまわりになってそびえる 
     A thousand sunflowers
     Have united into a huge
     Towering SUNFLOWER
