野球場の観客がみな鳥になった　そして一斉に空に飛び去った
     Changing all into birds,
     The whole audience of
     The ballpark flew away

紙のように夜空が少し破れていて真っ青な空が向こうに見える
     Like a piece of paper,
     The night sky tore a little, and
     Let the blue sky peep

雪だるまの頭は宙を飛んでいき胴は地面を転がっていく
     The head of the snowman
     Is flying in the air, its trunk
     Rolling on the gorund

「案山子猫」は猫そっくりでネズミたちは怖くて傍へやってこられない
     “A scarerat” is a doll
     Of a cat. It’s so like a cat
     That rats are all scared

カボチャたちに追いかけられる夢を見る　百個、二百個追いかけてくる　　　　　
     At times I have a nightmare
     In which I am chased by one or
     Two hundreds of pumpkins

バラと言ってとバラの香を桃と言って桃の香を鼻から出す人
     The person can breathe out
     The fragrance of roses
     Or peaches at will

別の人の感情に合わせ理由もなく私自身の感情も動く 
     Without any reason, 
     My emotions are in sync
     With someone else’s

何故梨と林檎は形が同じなのか、どっちがどっちの真似をしたのか
     Apples and Japanese
     Pears have the same shape. Which were
     Imitated?

しゃぼん玉が吹き出す穴が地面にありふさぐと近くに別の穴が開き
     A hall on the ground
     Blows soap bubbles. If we stop it,
     Another starts blowing

許すたびに大きくなっていく心　許さないたび小さくなるもの　
     Forgiveness enlarges
     Our hearts, while intolerance
     Dwindles them

カタツムリがもう一匹のカタツムリを全速力で追いかけている
     A snail is chasing
     Another at full speed, though they
     Both appear leisurely
