おびただしい文字たちが空に集まって銀河のように渦巻いている 　   200703
     Like a galaxy,
     Innumerable letters are
     Whirling in the sky

太陽をヤスリで削り「粉太陽！粉太陽！」と売って回った                   200704

     The sun, I hawked it around,
     “Grated sun! Grated sun!”

胴体がふくらんだ蛇がふくらみに顔を向けて言う「胃の中の蛙」        200717
     The snake said, turning
     Its head to its swollen belly,
     “A frog in the stomach”*

     *There is a well-known saying in Japan, “A frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean.” The snake puns on the former part of it, both “stomach” (“i”) and “well” (“ido,” in the modern usage, but, here in the saying, archaically, “i”) in Japanese having the same sound.

私の耳からむにゅむにゅもう一人の私が出てきて高笑いする               200718

     Squeezes itself out of my ear
     And bursts into laughter

畑じゅうのひまわりたちの花だけが茎から取れて空を飛び回る           200718
