【Even if it were normal, I wouldn't do it.】The reason I dare not show my face.
Etc. etc.
Sometimes I am told something like this.
I think this is an expression of a desire to know the creator and is very natural.
Nowadays, it is not unusual for people to show their faces and appear in the media and videos, and anyone can do it. If you look at cookbooks, you will usually see someone's picture on the page.
The theme you want to convey has nothing to do with the face....
I feel uncomfortable with this trend, as if it is a matter of course.
In conclusion, I don't think that people should put their faces.
If it is normal to show one's face, I would like to change that trend.
So this time, I would like to write my personal opinion about showing one's face.
Why do people show their faces ?
・Advantages of showing one's face
By putting one's face out there, one can directly convey information and images of what the creator looks like.
If the recipient likes the person's face, the number of fans will increase.
・Disadvantages of showing one's face
By putting one's face out, specific personal information about the creator's face is leaked, and first impressions and images are fixed.
It is possible to be judged by the face and personality and dislike the thing itself.
Advantages are disadvantages and disadvantages are advantages.
Use faces in their strategies
TV, commercials, SNS, product packaging, books, etc.
Today, people are actively putting their faces out in a variety of places.
・Create a good image
It is often used to improve the image of a product or service and add value. It is easy to create a positive image such as cool, cute, beautiful, and fun.
・Improvement of credibility
Even if a producer is not well-known at all, his/her picture or image may be shown in order to improve credibility. For example, when you go to the supermarket, you often see products with someone's face printed on them.
Many people are somewhat attracted to producers who put one's face out.
Even if they don't know the face of the producer, they may be tempted to support.
However, I would like you to stop and think about it for a moment.
A "face" is just that, a "face."
As a matter of course, no matter what kind of face a person makes, it does not directly affect the goodness or badness of it.
Even if the "face" gives a good impression, it does not mean that it is excellent.
On the other hand, no"face" does not mean that it is inferior.
A "face" is just a "face," and a face itself has no real value.
What is important, needless to say, is the content itself.
Please don't be fooled by the face, look at it for what it is.
Because I like the person.
Because it looks good somehow.
If you choose something for such vague reasons, it will be unclear whether it is really suitable for you or not.
Why I dare not put one's face out
I want to put the receiver before the creator.
I have never worked or engaged in any activities using my own face, although I have personally been asked to make TV appearances in the past.
I have always used simple hand-drawn illustrations in my profiles without using a photo of my face. There are no voices or faces in my videos, of course.
Even in game-related articles, I dare not include details such as character IDs.
No matter how good the content is, it will always be a bad fit.
Even if you decide to use it based on first impressions alone, if it does not fit, it will not be a positive experience for that person.
I would like only those who look carefully and think about it and then really need the article to read it and use it.
I am often called stubborn, but I don't want to bend that thinking.
I don't want to bind the receiver to an image by putting one's face out.
Without a face, the receiver can imagine the creator more freely.
They will be able to face the thing more carefully and have more opportunities to think about it, without being bound by prejudice or first impressions.
At first, they may feel lost without knowing the right answer, but by thinking deeply, also they will gradually develop the ability to see.
I want people to pay attention to the vision behind the face.
"Without a face, I don't know who is making the product, so I don't feel safe."
Some people say that, but a face is never a guarantee of security.
It is easy to create a good brand image with a face, but it only proves that someone with that face was involved.
I believe that a simple face with a solid backside is better than one with a flashy face and an unclear backside, and as a result, the recipient can look closely and make a convincing choice.
It would be easier to understand if I say that mismatches are less likely to occur....
I believe that designing a true face without excessive makeup to draw attention to the reverse side and to attract the receiver's attention is the face as it should be.
There are so many things in the world that have attractive faces but vague visions behind them, and I have mixed feelings every time I see them.
Why I am making it
How I am making it
What am I thinking about when I make it
Why am I so particular about it
What do I want to convey in the future
In any media, it is difficult to convey everything 100% in a limited space and number of words, but I want people to see my intentions as much as possible too, so I often express them in a way that others do not.
I don't want people to judge me first by my face, no matter what I myself look like.
People around me say I am beautiful, but that is secondary and completely irrelevant.
Even if I use my face to attract the attention of many, the people I really want to convey my message to are a very small percentage of them.
If I am asked to put one's face out in the future, I think I will basically decline, but I will not compromise my strange obsession, so hope you understand.
