英語日記019：国際人になるには

もうすぐ5月も終わり。

５月中に英語日記20本書いちゃいたいですね…というわけで、19本目。

How to be a cosmopolitan

To become a cosmopolitan, to be conscious of communicating without fear of failure is more important for me than to study at my desk to overcome language barriers. I have three reasons.

Firstly, thanks to technological development, it is getting easier to communicate in foreign languages. If I have a transrate device, I can talk with people all over the world, though there may be some errors.

Secondly, I can improve my language skill by trying to communicate as much as possible. So even if I don't have a translator, I should use their languages as much as I can. When I struggle with a new language, I have to try to remove my mental block.

Lastly, like many Japanese people, I tend to be reserved in groups-even in Japanese groups, but such an attitude is not always welcome in the international community. 

According to a Japanese proverb, "Better ask than go astray." With the UoPeople course finally starting, I'm going to decide to be more proactive.

今回は指摘なし。
前回「指摘無し」だった時も友人から割と基礎的な指摘を受けたので、翻訳ソフトに頼り切るのは危険かも（それでも使うけど）。

おわりに

University of the peopleのオリエンテーションがスタートして、オンラインキャンパスの使い方や心構えなどについて教わっているところです。

6月からは日記どころじゃなくなるんだろうか。もっとも英語には触れ続けるので、何かの形で発信は続けたいと思っていますが。
