Presenter: Hideo Tanaka, Ph.D. with
Moderator: Akira Ikemi, Ph.D.
Abstract:
"Experiencing and the Creation of Meaning" (Gendlin, 1962/1997) is a seminal work from Gendlin's early years. It is the theoretical cornerstone for practices such as "Focusing" and "Thinking at the Edge".
The more you unpack the work, the more you will see what roles words and felt sense each play in "forming a felt sense," "getting a handle," and "resonating the handle."
This presentation is intended for those who have some experience with Focusing but are not as familiar with Gendlin's theoretical and philosophical writings.
