From the end of Shogunate to Meiji era 幕末から明治まで

I would like to talk about the end of Shogunate and Meiji era.
幕末から明治まで、について話したいと思います。

The end of Edo Shogunate which had continued over 200 years has started from the arrival of Perry commodore and battleships. Until then, Japan had adopted national isolation policy, but the U.S. demanded the opening of Japan for trade. Edo Shogunate had to submit to this gunboat diplomacy and had to agree to unequal treaties.
200年以上続いた江戸幕府が終わったのは、ペリーの来航がきっかけでした。それまで日本は鎖国状態だったのですが、アメリカは開国、貿易を要求し、幕府はその力を恐れ、不平等な条約を結んでしまいました。

Some domains such as Choshu and Satsuma were furious with this conclusion and planned to defeat Shogunate by setting up the Emperor as a leader, and carried out the rebellion. New government called Meiji was established after Edo Shogunate. They tried to increase national wealth and military power, and expanded colonies to catch up with European countries and the U.S. And it was involved in some world wars after that.
この条約締結に怒ったいくつかの藩（おもに長州藩、薩摩藩）が、天皇をトップに担ぎ、幕府を倒す計画をし、実行しました。幕府が倒れた後、新たな政府である明治政府ができ、欧米に追い付くために富国強兵、植民地拡大を実施し、いくつかの世界大戦につながっていきます。

This era is one of the most famous upheaval time in Japan and many historical heroes appeared. They are adopted to dramas, movies, animation and games.
