My experiences in NZ #28

Hello there.
It has already been three weeks past since the last post. Holy cow!
I’d love to continue from where I ended last time.

After learning English at the language school, I continued job hunting. During GW, my acquaintance who helped me to get a working holiday visa visited me from Japan. He was on the way to send his stepson to Napier, his hometown.

His stepson had just graduated from junior high school and would learn at senior high in Napier and was going to do a homestay. It was our first meeting. According to his stepfather, he couldn’t speak English very much, so he asked me to help him if he had any problems. We exchanged our phone numbers and promised to keep in touch.

After a while, he phoned me and suggested coming over to Napier. He told me his host family agreed. I didn't have a job yet at that time, so I decided to travel to Napier.

Many working holidaymakers travel around NZ, but it was my first experience alone. It was challenging for me because I got on the long-haul bus. I don't remember how long I rode on it, but it took about seven hours. We had restroom breaks several times, and I talked with an elderly couple and took a picture together then. It was one of my cherished memories.

That’s all for today, and to be next time.
See you around.
