WHERE'D YOU GO, BERNADETTE
Hello there.
Yesterday, I went to the movie theater after a long time, about two years or more, and watched two films there. I'd love to share one of them today.
I watched "Where’d You Go, Bernadette," Cate Blanchett, an Academy Award-winning actress, acted as the main character "Bernadette." The Japanese title was "Bernadette, Mom is missing."
Bernadette was a housewife and a mom of a high school girl, Bee; at the same time, she used to be a talented architect. In the story, her distress, such as issues between her daughter Bee's friends' moms, her neighborhood, and her previous occupation, was spoken about. There were common matters of mine, so I sympathized, and It made my chest tight.
Although I tried not to read Japanese subtitles this time, I could make sense. Thinking about it, I think it was because they were mainly ordinary conversations with no technical terminology such as medical and court terms. It made me brave, and at the same time, I felt my listening skills improved. I'll keep trying!
That's all for today, have a wonderful weekend, everyone. And see you around.
