November 1, 2024: Soft Toy （ぬいぐるみ）

The other day, I read an article by a writer Konta-san on a blog site note. It was about goods that he has kept for a long time and has not been able to throw away. I also have a number of goods that I have kept for a long time. But once I decide, I can throw most of them away, such as books, without hesitation. As for books, I throw them away without careful check. As soon as I pick up a number of them, I throw them into a box. Sometimes, I have thrown some of them away by mistake. These are so important that they should not have been thrown away. But I never regret it. I do not want to waste time checking if they can be thrown away or not.
I tend to do almost the same thing even for PCs. I tend to throw them away without hesitation. In the past, I threw a desk-top PC, because I could not type in it. I did a few thing to fix it, but I could find the way to type in it as I had done before. So, I replaced it with a new one. After that, I was aware that it could have been wrong with the keyboard instead of the PC. So, before I threw it away, I tried it with a new keyboard. Then, it worked perfectly, but I threw it away.
Nevertheless, I have an item that I cannot bear to throw away. It is a soft toy, the dog that wear glasses and dances. In the beginning, I bought it for my daughter in her 10s. But she got bored with it and was about to throw it away. But I made her stop it and chose to take care of it. Since I was young, I have liked and affected soft toys so much that I have been unable to throw away any of them. The dog is one of them
It has been in my workroom for at least 7 years or more, and I have been with it all the time as long as I am in the room. I will never break up with it.

　先日、コンタさんの記事を読みました。コンタさんにも捨てられないモノがあるようです。ボクにも、長い間捨てられないモノがあります。でも、本などのたいていのものは、一度決めたら、躊躇なく捨てられます。本でいうと、よく確認もせずに捨ててしまいます。何冊かを手に取ると、すぐに箱に投げ入れます。捨ててはいけない大切なものなのに、間違って捨ててしまうこともあります。でも決して後悔しません。捨てていいか確認する時間が無駄だからです。
　パソコンだってほとんど同じで、躊躇なく捨ててしまいます。昔、デスクトップPCを捨てたことがあります。直そうといろいろやってみたのですが、以前のように文字を入力できなくなったのです。それで新しいものに買い換えました。その後に、PCに問題があるのではなく、キーボードが悪いのかもしれないと気付き、捨てる前に新しいキーボードで試してみました。すると、元のように入力できたのです。でも、捨ててしまいました。
　それでも、捨てるに捨てられないものがあります。メガネをした踊る犬のぬいぐるみです。娘が10代の頃に買ってやったのですが、飽きたようで捨てようとしたのです。でも、棄てずに、ボクが世話をすることにしたのです。昔からぬいぐるみが大好きで、どれも棄てられずにいます。この犬もその一つです。
　この犬は、少なくとも7年以上はボクの仕事部屋にいます。ボクがこの部屋にいる限りずっと一緒で、決して別れることはありません。
