July 11, 2023: Systems & Machine, Errors （システムや機械、間違い）

I always tend to blame systems or machines when they do not work as I expect. I struggle with it every day. I am doing so as I write this article. I am struggling with typos. When I write articles, I always use a PC and touch type. But I have never been able to write them with no typing errors. When I write English articles, I do not do very often these mistakes. I also know why I do such mistakes. I do not remember the correct spelling of words. On the other hand, when I write Japanese articles, I type them in Roman letters and do a lot of mistakes. That frustrates me very much. I have to convert Japanese words in my head into alphabetic letters first. Then, I type the letters and press a conversion key to convert them to Japanese. These make me do a lot of mistakes. Whenever I make such a mistake, I am irritated. And when I repeat it, I get so frustrated that I am about to smash the keyboard.
This is because I think that the machine does not work as I expect. And I blame the machine and at the moment, never reflect on what I did. But the truth is that the mistakes come from me and the machine shows exactly what I have done.
It means that I tend to think that I am greater than systems or machines. But that is wrong. I have benefited a lot from them. If I imagine my life without them, I am sure that it would have been much worse than my present life. Without them, I could not do what I am now doing. For example, without them, I would not be able to post my articles on ‘note’. I have to be more friendly with them.

　ボクは、機械やシステムが思い通りに動いてくれないと、往々にしてそれらのせいにしてしまいます。これと毎日、格闘しています。この記事を書いているこの瞬間もそうです。タイピングエラーと格闘しているのです。記事を書くときは、いつもパソコンを使ってブラインドタッチで書いています。でも、タイピングエラーをせずに、書けたことは一度もありません。英文記事を書くときは、比較的間違いが少ないです。間違う理由もわかっています。単語のスペルを正しく覚えていないからです。日本語で記事を書くときは、ローマ字入力しているのですが、一杯間違いをします。これにとても腹が立ちます。頭に浮かんだ日本語の単語をまずアルファベットに分解する必要があります。次に、そのアルファベットをタイプします。さらに、「変換キー」で日本語に変換します。この過程で、沢山の間違いをします。間違う度にイラっとします。あまりに何度も繰り返すと、腹が立って、キーボードをたたき壊したくなります。その瞬間は、機械のせいにして、自分がやったことを顧みません。でも実は、間違いは自分自身のせいです。機械は、自分がやったことを正確に反映しているだけです。
　つまり、自分は、システムや機械より偉いと考えがちなのです。でも、これはまちがっています。システムや機械から多大な恩恵を受けているのです。これらがない生活を想像すると、間違いなく今よりひどいです。これらがなければ、今やっていることもできません。例えば、ｎｏｔｅへの記事も投稿できません。もっと、システムや機械と親しくなる必要があります。
