October 17, 2024: Conflicts（紛争）
The 2024 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the atomic bomb survivors in Japan. They have made their hard efforts to establish the nuclear taboo. They have also appealed to it at the UN and on the streets around the world. I really appreciate and respect their hard efforts.
But the Earth has still never seen the state of no war at any time. I do not know exactly, but I think that it has seen war all the time since it was born. In other words, human beings cannot live without war. And it seems that the longer they live on the Earth, the more they have war.
In fact, Russian invaded Ukraine last year, and the war is still going on. And another war broke out south of Ukraine, in the Middle East which has been said to be the powder keg of the world. The war has been mainly between Israel and Palestine. But Israel is now extending its attack over Lebanon. And I am afraid that Israel may be attacked by its enemy, Iran, which is ready to help its brothers, Palestine and Lebanon. In fact, Iran has already launched a number of missiles toward Israel in October. Unfortunately, I can do nothing about it and all I can do is just wait and see how things will go. I really hope that the war will not extend further.
On the other hand, the war reminded me of another thing of Lebanon. It was about a famous former CEO of a Japanese company, Carlo Ghosn. He ran away from Japan and has been living in Lebanon. I do not know how his life is now, but he is sure to be unable to go out from the country. He is wanted internationally and is highly likely to be arrested by French or Japanese police as soon as he goes out from the country. So, he is now at the risk of being attacked by Israel or arrested by French or Japanese police.
2024年のノーベル平和賞が日本の被爆者に授与されました。被爆者の方たちは、「核使用のタブー化」を定着させるために懸命に努力をされてきました。また、国連や世界中のストリートで、核兵器廃絶を訴えてこられました。彼らの懸命な努力に心から称賛し、敬意を表します。
でも、地球はまだ一度も戦争がない状態を見たことがありません。正確にはわかりませんが、地球は誕生してからずっと戦争を見てきたのではないでしょうか。つまり、人間は戦争なしでは生きてこれなかったのです。人間が長く住めば住むほど、戦争は増えているようです。実際、ロシアが昨年ウクライナに侵攻し、戦争はまだ続いています。そして、ウクライナから南にある、「世界の火薬庫」と言われる中東でも戦争が勃発しました。主にイスラエルとパレスチナの戦争ですが、イスラエルは今、レバノンにまで攻撃を広げています。イスラエルがイランに攻撃されるのを危惧しています。イランは、同胞であるパレスチナやレバノンを援助する用意があるからです。実際、イランはすでに10月にイスラエルに向けて多くのミサイルを発射しています。でも残念ながら、ボクには、これについて何もできず、ただ成り行きを静観する以外に術はありません。これ以上戦争が拡大しないことを願うばかりです。
一方、この戦争でレバノンに関する別件を思い出しました。日本企業の元CEOだった、あの有名なカルロス・ゴーン氏のことです。同氏は、日本から逃げ出し、レバノンにいます。今、どんな生活をしているかは知りませんが、国外に出ることができないのは間違いありません。彼は国際指名手配されており、国外に出ればすぐにフランスか日本の警察に逮捕される可能性が高いからです。彼は、今、イスラエルの攻撃を受けるか、フランスまたは日本の警察に逮捕される危機にあるのです。
