自分の弱さは好きですか？　Do you like your weaknesses?

私はとても弱い。

物語の終盤で、語られる言葉。
「俺は俺の弱さが好きなんだよ。苦しさやつらさも好きだ。（中略）どうしようもなく好きなんだ。（後略）」

初めて読んだ二十歳のころよりも、今の私の、心に染み入る。自分の弱さを見つめて、受け入れることが、他者への理解につながると信じたい。

今こそ世界が利他主義へ向かうことを願う。

I am more impressed with what I am now than when I first read it when I was 20 years old. I want to believe that staring at my weakness and accepting it will lead to understanding to others.

Now is the time for the world to move toward altruism.
