大学教員になるには。（つづき）
いよいよ梅雨に入りましたが、みなさんいかがお過ごしでしょうか。私もたまに出る晴れ間を見つけては洗濯にいそしんでいます。
さて、今日は久しぶりに大学教員になるにはどうしたらいいのか考えてみたいと思います。私は以前にも紹介しましたが、ストレートで大学教員になった訳ではありません。かなり紆余曲折を経て今のポジションを手に入れました。正直大学教員はとてもいい仕事だと思います。大学内のいろいろなしがらみに苦労させられることはありますが、基本一人親方で自由に仕事を組むことができます。また、成績も問われることはありません。（多少、授業評価や研究業績が昇進に影響を与えますが…。）
いろいろな仕事の経験からみて、大学教員という仕事は恵まれた仕事だと思います。しかし、そのことはいろいろな職種についたから実感できるのであって、社会に一度も出ず大学教員になった人には、その恩恵を知る術はないのではないでしょうか。ところが大学教員の多くは学生からそのまま大学教員になっている人が多いのが現状です。だからといって大学教員になるためには必ず他の職種を経験しろと強要しているわけではありません。
私が一番伝えたいことは、常に学生にとって最も学べる環境とは一体何かを考え続ける姿勢の重要性です。学生は日々変化をします。この変化に対応した環境をぶれずに提供し続けることができるかが、大学教育でも肝だと考えます。そこで私は今地元の企業や自治体との連携を図っています。これからの教育は大学だけではなく多くの人たちと一緒になって進めていかなければなりません。そのためにはまず大学を開かれた場所にする必要があります。そして、大学が起点となって社会に変化を与えられる存在になれば、大学の存在価値が高まると考えています。
ただ、このようなことは別に大学教員の仕事として必ずしも求められている訳でありません。むしろ、優先順位としては下位に位置しています。実際、このような仕事は際限なくありますので、かなりの時間を奪われてしまいます。たまたま私は組織の連携についても研究対象なので、研究も兼ねて企業訪問していますが、他の先生には厳しいかもしれません。
まだまだ模索が続きますが、その人の個性が活かせる大学教員という仕事をこれからも続けていきたいと思います。ぜひ、みなさんも大学教員を目指して頑張ってください。

The rainy season has finally started. How is everyone doing? I sometimes find a sunny day to do laundry.
Today, I would like to think about how I can become a university teacher after a long time. I introduced it before, but it's not that I became a university teacher straight. After many twists and turns, I got the position I have now. To be honest, I think university teaching is a very good job. There are many constraints in the university, but basically you can work alone. Also, the grades are not questioned. (Lesson evaluation and research achievement have some influence on promotion ....)
From my experience in various jobs, I think being a university teacher is a good job. However, this can be realized because they have taken on various types of jobs, and I think there is no way for those who have never been in society and have become university teachers to realize the benefits.Because, most of the university teachers are students who become university teachers. But that doesn't mean you have to experience other jobs to become a university teacher.
What I want to say the most is the importance of always thinking about what is the best environment for students to learn. Students change every day. The key to university education is whether we can continue to provide an environment that is responsive to this change. So I am now working with local companies and municipalities. Education in the future should be promoted not only at universities but also with many people. To do that, you need to make the university an open place first. I also believe that the value of university presence will increase if universities become the starting point for social change.
However, this kind of work is not necessarily required as a university teacher's job. Rather, it is a lower priority. In fact, this kind of work is endless and takes up a lot of time. I happen to be a research subject on organizational cooperation, so I visit companies for research, but it may be difficult for other teachers.
I still have a long way to go, but I would like to continue my work as a university teacher, where I can make the most of my personality. Please do your best to become a university teacher.
