Be a Positive Thinker by Reframing 【Is the glass half empty? or Is the glass half full?】

Are you a negative thinker?

At work, at school, and in many other everyday situations, we feel depressed, sad, or angry... We all have negative feelings in our daily lives.

I usually recommend optimism over pessimism (peh·suh·mi·zm) and always positivity over negativity.

However, when it comes to positive thinking, it's sometimes hard to do.

So, today I'm going to give you a hands-on introduction to the art of positive thinking by using the "Reframing".

Most people who seem to be positive are good at doing the "Reframing".
If you take it well, it can dramatically change the way you see the world and change your actions!  Please stay with me at the end of this topic if you are especially a negative thinker.

What is "Reframing"?

People think and feel various events in the world in their own frame of reference.

You and I are looking at the world wearing different colored glasses ...

And depending on the characteristics of the glasses, the same event can make you happy, sad or angry.

If you are pessimistic about what is happening in front of you, take off the glasses you are wearing and look at the world again with another pair of glasses...

Reframing is to create positive thoughts and moods in this way.

Half a Glass of Water
A glass with water in it. The water is at the half-way mark.
Is the glass half empty? or Is the glass half full?

When you say "Half empty" , you feel more dissatisfaction or lacking.
When you say "Half full" , you feel more satisfaction or joy.

Broken Mobile Phone
When your mobile phone has just broken after many years of use, it's easy to think, "Oh my gosh, it's going to cost a lot of money to fix it"
At such a time, you can also think "Yahoo! Finally, I can get the latest mobile phone which I've wanted recently, My mobile phone, thanks for your help over the years."

The New Virus Isolation
It's easy to think, "Oh, I can't go to a fun school, and I can't play with my friends, it's boring."
In such a case, you can also think, "Okay, I'll study a lot until school starts again, and then I'll play a lot with my friends when school starts again!

The Effect of Reframing

Have you grasped the image of reframing?
So, you've found that reframing has many benefits, right?
Here's a summary of the three benefits from reframing.

1. Keeping Yourself Positive
The first effect is positive thinking and positive mood.
Like the example of the half-full glass, focusing on the positive parts of the same event can help us to think optimistically about things.
Moods are associated with thoughts, so reframing and positive thinking can help you feel happier.

2. Making Everyone Around You Happy
You will be able to see the strengths rather than the weaknesses of the people around you, and you will be able to treat them with love.

For example, if you have a classmate who is slow to do anything, you might think, "The boy is always careful to do anything, so he has fewer mistakes."

Instead of saying, "Hurry up!"
You can encourage him by saying, "You're careful, and because of that, you haven't made any mistakes."

You can empower them by finding and approving the good in them.

Your comments and attitudes to those around you will be so positive that people will start to feel more comfortable with you and trust you more.

What would you think if you were someone else?

In response to an event, "What would you think if you were someone else?" It's also effective to change your perspective with.

It's the same story I mentioned earlier about half-full glass. It was an example of how different people perceive things differently.

Think of the people around you, especially the positive ones.
And ask yourself "What would I think if I were that person?"

If you can do that in your head, you're pretty good at reframing.

Why don't we stop saying negative things any more? Your negative vibrations can damage not only to yourself but to those around you as well.
Just by complaining to others or saying negative things, you will be covered with negative energy and you will be away from future money, opportunities for success, new happiness, good friends and your dreams.
If you look at a half-full glass of water and feel it's half-empty, you're a negative thinker. You've surely compared your life to that of your ideal person and you think something is missing. You become a negative thinker because you are subtracting yourself from our ideal life. There are many people in the world who are very poor and battling with intractable diseases. You are already very lucky. It's a miracle and something to be thankful for, to be able to go about your days with normal ease.
Start using reframing today and think positively about everything. If you do, you'll be more grateful and happy, and you'll grow to be a positive thinker.
