出展作品ちらりご紹介-その2

個展までちょうど１ヶ月となりました。
我が家の庭の桜の木も上の方は黄色い葉っぱが見え、近所の小学校の柿の実も色づいてきました。又、この時期の朝顔は良いですね。フェンスなどに絡まった水色の野良朝顔が好みです。旧暦ということもあり、和歌の世界では朝顔は秋の歌とされています。
えーっと、つまり、そう秋ですね。植物を見ていると秋を感じます。
温度も湿度も高いままですが、これもあと何度目かの台風がさらってゆくことでしょう。
仕事場近くのマンサクの下の水溜りを定点観測して2年目となります。
マンサクの木も旺盛なのは7月から8月頭までで、この時期は葉の色が落ち始めます。そしてあと一ヶ月ほどすると、周囲のクヌギの木が葉を落とし、水溜りにも落ち葉が浮かぶようになります。
そんな水溜りをモチーフにしたのが#suematsuayumiworksでもご紹介しているimpermanenceシリーズです。
水溜りができ消えてゆく過程を、人が持つ時間に準えて作品制作をしています。
出展する作品は、全て同じマンサクの木ですが、そのマンサクの木を映す水溜りが違います。できた時期、場所、私の立ち位置、見る高さ、風や光の具合などなど。枝葉の伸び方や水溜りに浮かぶ落ち葉の影から、ぜひ季節やお天気や時間の流れを想像してみてください。
又、作品の背景には鏡を仕込んでいます。
作品を見る皆さんの姿が、作品に映り込みます。
ぜひ作品を見る位置や角度を変えて、または会場をぶらぶらと歩いて、背景で変化する色と形をたのしんでみてください。(カラフルなお洋服だと一層たのしいかも知れません。)
そしてそして。
ひとつ前の記事でご紹介した作品「Kahi」は、このimpermanenceシリーズから、きれいだな、おもしろい形だな、と思ったパーツをピックアップしてモチーフとしています。どこをkahiにしたのかな、自分だったらimpermanenceのどこをkahiにするかな、なんてことを考えながらぜひ会場全体をたのしんでくださいね。

Introduction of Exhibited works - Part 2
It is now exactly one month until my solo exhibition.
The cherry tree in our yard has yellow leaves on the tops, and the persimmons at a nearby elementary school are starting to turn color. Morning glories are also nice this time of year. I like the light blue stray morning glories that are entwined around fences and other structures. In the world of Japanese poetry, morning glories are considered to be an autumnal song because of the lunar calendar.
Um, I mean, yes, it is autumn. When I look at plants, I feel autumn.
The temperature and humidity are still high, but this will be swept away by the next few typhoons.
This is the second year that I have been making regular observations of the puddle of water under the witch hazel tree near my work.
The witch hazel trees are vigorous from July to the beginning of August, when the leaves begin to lose their color. And in another month or so, the surrounding sawtooth oak trees will drop their leaves, and fallen leaves will float in the puddles.
The motif of such puddles is the "impermanence" series, which is also introduced in #suematsuayumiworks.
I create works by comparing the process of forming and disappearing puddles of water to human time.
All of the exhibited works are of the same witch hazel tree, but the puddles of water reflecting the tree are different. The time of year when it was created, the location, my standing position, the height from which I am looking, the wind and light conditions, and so on. Please imagine the season, the weather, and the passage of time from the way the branches and leaves grow and the shadows of the fallen leaves in the puddle.
Also, a mirror is placed in the background of the work.
The reflection of the viewer's image will be reflected in the work.
Please enjoy the changing colors and shapes in the background by changing the position and angle from which you view the work, or by wandering around the venue. (It may be even more fun in colorful clothes.)
And then....
The "Kahi" piece introduced in the previous article was created by picking up parts from the "impermanence" series that I thought were beautiful or had interesting shapes. Please enjoy the entire exhibition hall while thinking about what parts of the "impermanence" you would choose as kahi.
