【Research Report】Study on Recognition of ”Proxy Donations” in Hometown Tax 2024
Summary
26.4% are aware of “proxy donations”, in which a municipality unaffected by the disaster collects relief donations through the hometown tax on behalf of the affected municipality to reduce the paperwork burden on the affected municipality.
Of those who are aware of disaster relief donations through the hometown tax, about half (51.2%) are aware of “proxy donations”.By age group, those in their 20s are the most aware of “proxy donations”.
56.9% learned about proxy donation” through the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
