Summary
Nearly 80% of those in their 20s to 30s have a favorable view of their hometown. The presence of family and friends who stayed in the local area, along with cherished memories, are key elements of this "local affection."
More than one in three individuals in their 20s to 30s living in the Tokyo metropolitan area express a desire to "return to their hometown or its vicinity someday."
It has been revealed that individuals in their 20s to 30s with strong local affection also exhibit a high level of consciousness about contributing to their hometown.
About half of those in their 20s to 30s with strong local affection have experience with Hometown tax donation. Over 60% are aware of the system's purpose, which is "giving back to their hometown."
