兎の眼「定番の書にも過激表現がある話」

30年ほど前になる。兎の眼という本があった。学校の先生なら悪いことをするこどもの目線にも立てないか。こどもの置かれている背景や状況も念頭に入れて教育活動に活かせないか。
About three decades ago, he had an experience to read the famous educational book called “Rabbits’ eyes.”
This book suggested that school teachers should stand the same eyes level as their students with undesirable behaviors, or that they should appear in front of them with their unfortunate backgrounds or unaffectionate situations in their heads, the author advocates.

理想ではある。彼は親がそうだったらひねくれずに済んだのになあと思う。学校は生徒を従順かつ聞き分けの良い存在にすることが任務だ。才能を引き出し個性を伸長する必要などない。
His opinion should be an ideal proposal, everyone knows.
His parents should have raised him with enough respect,  consideration and affection toward him, which prevented him from having such twisted feelings and emotions.
School’s mission forces their students to be obedient and reasonable, which has been ordered by the educational committees of the local governments, an article says.
They don’t have to educe individuals’ talents from their students, simultaneously, to enlarge their personalities.

彼は性悪説を支持する。この世に生まれたこと自体が競争に勝利した結果なのだ。他者に勝ちを譲るとか負けに甘んじる態度はそもそも生まれてきていない。生まれたら競争あるのみだ。
He supports the theory that humans should enter our society with something malicious and hostile, he says.
Only when we win the competition against a tremendous large number of rivals, we could appear on the globe.
When we could give up our own victory or accept our own defeat, in the first place, we cannot exist here.
And after our birth, the competition would last forever.

負けても悔しくなかったら戦争はない。彼の大好きな作家が言っていたが気持ちのいい行為をした後で他人に喧嘩を売る人間はいない。いい思いのできていない人間が戦争を生むのだ。
We sometimes become a winner, and vice versa, when a loser cannot have any feelings or emotions, there wouldn’t be a war on the planet without fail, he says.
