剣道という競技があります。皆さんはその試合を観たことがありますか？
柔道や空手道と異なり、剣道はオリンピック競技になっていません。あまり試合を観る機会がない競技かも知れませんね。
日本は古来から、日本刀を使用した兵法を理にした「剣術」が、多くの武家階級者や戦闘員に学ばれてきました。
本来は殺傷を目的とした技術なのだそうです。
剣道は「剣術」を元に現代人が心と体を鍛える技術として、親しまれています（…と聞いています。。）
とても弱い剣士でしたが、私も部活動で毎日稽古していた頃があります。
相手の間近で大きな声を出す競技で、コロナ対策が特に難しいと聞きますが、
その分稽古用の「フェイスシールド」などの体勢が普及するのも早かったようです。
防具を買って、また稽古を初めてみたいです。

Have you ever seen the Kendo(剣道) competition?
It may be a competition we have few chances to watch the game, such as Judo or Karate in Olympic.
Since ancient times in Japan, many people of feudal class and soldiers learned swordsmanships(剣術:Kenjyutu) which is based on the military method of using Japanese swords(刀:Katana).
They were, originally, really ancient technologies aimed at "killing enemies.
Modern people marge them as "Kendo" and make it popular to train their mental and physical strongth based on "swordsmanship".
