ode to a star in storm's eye
A woman with passion that I love to see,
likened to a seaman seeing in a storm, the hanged star, 
If goodly thither we fare, then through passion's turmoils,
together we may go,
But when it is no good, may I worry not to blunder and trip, on my ship,
that in falling to surges, I was not toppled by some ground-roots.

我が情熱的な女を見初めたい
それが船乗りが嵐の中で見る、吊るされた星に例えられるなら、
もし道連れが良ければ、情熱の波乱を辿り
我らが旅の伴にもなろう、
しかし、それがダメダメなとき、
この船乗りでヘマしてつまずいたりしないように祈ろう、
波立つ船の上で、 土にいる根っこに倒されった事にならないように
