The Cairns Adventure Chronicle vol.1
Hi!! This is muuu. I traveled to Cairns from 5 Oct.~8 Oct.
This time, I’m going to share our journey to Cairns!
Let’s get started!!!
Early Bird
Finally, the day we head to Carins is here!!
We woke up at 3a.m. But surprisingly ID and Jin had waken up before I did.
It was still dark outside and we were still sleeping. However we called an Uber and headed to SYD airport. Because Cairns is waiting for us!!!
We booked our flight we chose a connecting flight,so we first went to Brisbane. Well we actually only stayed in Brisbane for an hour.
The flight was a bit delayed leaving but not by much.
This is the list of what we’re going to do
•Head to Kuranda by Skyline
•Explore something in there
•Have lunch
•Return to Carins St. by Scenic Railway
•Go to Airbnb by Uber
Fortunately....
So we took an Uber to Kuranda.
There a little accident happened.
We were supposed to ride Scenic Railway without reservation, but at the reception, they told us
”Sorry today’s bookings are already full. If you ask reception above, you might be able to get a seat.”
So we only bought Skyline tickets , we believed we’d be able to get Scenic Railway tickets.
Skyline was a bit scary. Because I’m a little afraid of heights. But while riding, I got used to it
For lunch I had hamburger . I forget the name. At this time Everybody was tired due to the long flight. Especially Yoon and ID
At the market, there were many souvenirs, such as australian-themed ones.
By the way, what a surprise! We were able to get the Railway tickets at the reception above, even though the unlikely three were there.(Jin,Yuhi and I )
Scenic Railway
Then we took the Railway,as planned, heaed to Cairns St.
The Kuranda Scenic Railway opened in 1891. It connects Cairns to Kuranda takes 1h 45min and passes through Barron Gorge, which is a World Heritage Site.
As you can see, inside fo Railway feels classic. It looked like something from Harry Potter , with its wooden old-fashioned train.
While we were taking the Railway, ID fell asleep. And also Yoon was daydreaming too, even though Yuhi didn’t sleep.
After a while, the most famous spot came into view!!!
The Railway journey was longer than I expected, but we enjoyed it!!
By the way, he actually ended up falling asleep.lol
After that....
After that, we took an Uber to Woolies before heading to the Airbnb.
We were planning to have a surprise party for ID’s birthday, which we kept secret from him.
We divided into three groups.
Jin went to buy her swimsuit, Yoon and ID went to Asia market and Yuhi and I went to woolies.
We bought his birthday cake but we didn’t think how to hide it from him.
A luxury Airbnb
Airbnb was super huger than we thought.
There were 6 bedrooms, a huge living room, a huge kitchen and three bathrooms. Plus there was pool and BBQ grill outside.
I’ve never stayed in a house like this before
At the Airbnb, Yoon cooked dinner for us. She made Korean cuisine.
It was delicious!!!
After we had dinner, we lay down and talked.
We looked for the right timing for surprise party for ID.
We wanted to take him to another place while we prepared the cake.
I said “Are you going to take a shower? Because we only have two showers, so while you are in the shower, I can’t sleep”
Actually I can sleep. It doesn’t matter whether someone take shower or not. lol
But he said,
” Don’t worry, my room also has a shower.”
Everyone was surprised because no one knew his room had a shower.
That’s not what I meant...
Eventually, I forcefully took him to another place.
In ended up, our surprise was a success!
The first day was quite busy.
We were on the plane for around 4 hours and took the Railway for 1 hour and 45 minutes. We mostly traveled by vehicle.
However, I felt the vast nature and the classic railway experience on the Scenic Railway.
And we were also successful with the surprise birthday party.
This is our first day in Cairns!!
