　表題の英文はこのままでは誤文です。しかし、that を1つどこかに置くと正しい英文になります。どこに置けば良いか答えなさい。

　①  He was speaking that the truth was obvious.
       「彼は真実は明らかだと話していた。」
　　speak という動詞はthat 節を目的語にできないので間違い。

　②  He was speaking the truth that was obvious.
       「彼は、明らかである真実を話していた。」
　　間違ってはいないが不自然な言い方。He was speaking the obvious truth. 　の方が自然。

　③  That he was speaking the truth was obvious.
　　「彼が真実を話していることは明らかだった。」
　　従属接続詞のthat を文頭に持ってきたこの文が正しい。
