アイルランドのトラディショナル・フォーク・ソングの 'She Moved through the Fair' をとりあげます。歌の旋律が mixolydian モード(ソラシドレミファソ)で出来ていることで有名な歌です(中世に遡る旋律との説あり)。下の譜面は Eb のミクソリディアン旋法になっています。(ソース)

アイルランドの女性シンガー Sinéad O'Connor など多くの人が唄っています。下に掲げる歌詞はシネードの歌に合わせて変えてあります。通常唄われる第3連をシネードは略して唄っています。〔多くのテクストは第1連2行目最後を 'kind' としていますが、ここは別版に従い 'kine' としています〕
