How to be Happy

  It is very abstract to say "I want to be happy", but I think it is what everyone wishes for at least once.
Happiness is not something that comes in pursuit.
It is not something that you wait for and comes to you.
In fact, happiness is something to be felt.
Then, how exactly can we feel happy?
That is, make take actions that make you like yourself.

  I have recently become absorbed in novels, and read them whenever I have free time.
Then one day I was reading a book and I stared to think  about it.
If the thing you are trying to do now is not what you want to do, it is fine.
In some cases, it is important not to do what you want to do.
If you can like yourself for having made the choice to do or not to do, it is surely a happy thing.

  A simple example is a person who is on a diet.
Most people on a diet have a desire to eat.
However, even if they have those feelings, choosing not to eat may lead to a happy future.

  One of my friends, Mr. K, who is a perfect scholar and a perfect performer in everything he does, taught me to "do what you want to do" then you will be happy.
I was not completely convinced, but I tried to assume that it was right, because Mr. K said it…  Is it really true?
I have reconsidered about it based on my experiences.
Now I know that I can be happy doing something what I don't want to do.
For me, to become a teacher is similar to "If I could be one, I may like myself" rather than "I want to be one".
So I pretend to be a person who single-mindedly working toward a goal so that I can like myself.

  In addition to this topic, there are three brain substances that cause happiness: serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine.
Serotonin, in particular is essential for maintaining a stable mental condition.
You can increase serotonin by trying to take diary and soy foods, and by soaking in some morning sun.

  For the above, if you want to be happy, take actions that allow you to like yourself, try to take serotonin, and soak in some morning sun.
Taking a morning walk is a great way to feel happy, since you can weak up early, get some light exercises, and soak in some morning sun.
It is also important to realize that you are already happy enough with your life right now.
