写真の持つ力　The photo is funny

なぜ写真を撮り続けるのかと考えてみました。カメラを使い続けるのかと言い換えてもいいでしょう。

I wondered why I keep taking pictures. In other words, you can keep using the camera.

写真がどういうものかなんてことは語り尽くされています。一瞬を切り取るものだったり、その場の雰囲気を伝えるものだとか。もちろんそういう事も意識しています。以前読んだ事があります。美しい光景を実際に目にした時と美しい光景の写真を目にした時の脳の反応は同じらしいという記事でした。いつだったか、どこで読んだのか、科学的に確かな事なのかはわかりませんがそれを信じています。写真の力ってあるんじゃないのかと思っています。自分の撮る写真がどれ程の力があるのかは自信がありません。だからこそ続けているのかもしれません。答えはまだまだこれからでしょう。

I've been talking about what a photograph looks like. Something that cuts out a moment or conveys the atmosphere of the place. Of course I am aware of that. I have read it before. It was an article that the reaction of the brain seems to be the same when you actually see a beautiful scene and when you see a picture of a beautiful scene. I don't know when, where I read it, or whether it's scientifically sound, but I believe it. I wonder if there is the power of photography. I'm not confident how powerful my photo is. That is why it may continue. The answer is yet to come.

ただシャッターの音が好きなだけかもしれない・・・という事も考えたり。

I may think that I just like the sound of the shutter...

理由はどうあれシャッターを切り続けていきます。

Whatever the reason, I will continue to release the shutter.
