世界の創造
GENESIS 1
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
まず最初に、神は空と大地を作った
The earth was without form and void,
大地は形がなく、からっぽで
and darkness was over the face of the deep.
そして暗闇が深淵の表面を覆っていた
And the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
そして神の霊が大海の上に漂っていた

空と大地を作って、まだ暗かったことは分かるが
どこから水が出てきたのか不明
watersは、直訳では広い水域を指すが
良い日本語が思いつかず
大抵それは海なので大海と訳してみた
And God said, "Let there be light,"
そして神は言った「光よあれ」
and there was light.
そして光があった
And God saw that the light was good.
そしてその光は良いと、神は思った
And God separated the light from the darkness.
そして神は、光と暗闇を分けた
God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
神は光を昼と呼び、暗闇を夜と呼んだ
And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
そして夕方があり、朝があった、最初の日のことである
And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters,
そして神は言った「大海の中に広がりよあれ」
and let it separate the waters from the waters."
そして大海と大海を分けた
And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse.
そして神は広がりを作り、広がりの下にある大海と、広がりの上にある大海を分けた
And it was so.
そしてそうなった
And God called the expanse Heaven.
そして神はその広がりを天と呼んだ
And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
そして夕方があり朝があり、二日目のことだった

さっきのwatersを天の下と上に分けたようだが
天の下の水は海だとしても、天の上の水はなんだろう
雨のもとになるやつなのかな
expanseを新共同訳は大空とするが
結局それは天になるので、直訳で広がりとした
ぐいっと広げて分けたというイメージ
And God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear."
そして神は言った「空の下の大海を一か所に集め、乾いた土地よ現れよ」
And it was so.
そしてそうなった
God called the dry land Earth,
神は乾いた土地を大地（地球）と呼んだ
and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas.
そして集まった水を海と呼んだ
And God saw that it was good.
そして神は良きと思った

the heavensとHeaven(the expanse)の区別が不明だが
気にしないとこうと思う
And God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetaton, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth."
そして神は言った「地に緑を芽吹かせ、そして植物が地に、それぞれの種類の種（たね）をつけ、果樹に種を宿す実をつけよ」
And it was so.
そしてそうなった
The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds,
大地は緑を生み、植物はそれぞれの種を宿し
and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind.
木はそれぞれの種類の種を宿した実をつけた
And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
そして神は良きと思った。そして夕方があり朝があり、三日目のことだった
