Purpose of my salary

I got my first salary yesterday. It is said that the starting salary should be used to buy something for our parents or buy something for ourselves. But I beg to differ because I believe that it should be spent to improve myself and our company President also said the same thing. I thought that was nice advice and it was straight to the point. There are a lot of people who spend their money on useless things. If I use my money to improve myself by gaining different skills then I may be promoted in the long run and get a chance in business thanks to the skill.

By the way, the purpose of my salary is to pay for my bills such as utilities and rent. I think these things are so expensive in Japan. Considering all my expenditures including utilities, rent, and food, it can cost me around one hundred thousand yen per month. That’s why I need to be conscious of using my money every month and consider saving as well.
