僕はジェフ、セブ島に住んでいます。

セブ島…
世界で唯一ジンベイザメといっしょに泳げる場所、底抜けに明るいひとびと、英語留学のメッカ…
いろいろなイメージがあるかと思います。

僕の仕事のひとつは、「国際協力団体の現地代表」。
なので、

こんな感じで、時には離島、時には山岳地帯、といろんな支援地をめぐりながら暮らしています。
（ちなみに一番上の写真は、ジャングルでドラゴンフルーツファームにいるところ）

ところで、僕には日本人の奥さんとミックスの息子がいます。
ふたりは僕の宝物＾＾

日本の友人もたくさんいます。
だから、日本とのご縁をふかーく感じてきました。

ときどき、日本のブログものぞいてみたりして…いたとき。
「日本の方たちってけっこうフィリピンのこと、発信してくださってるんだなあ。」と感じたのです。
「ありがたいな、うれしいなあ」と。

そしてふと…
いわゆる「現地のひと」である僕が、
「もしも自分の視点で日本の方々に発信したらどうだろう…？」
って考えたのです。

支援していただく立場の人間として、
現地のコミュニティの、日本の方々からみたら「あちら側のひと」として。

スラムで生まれ育つってどういうこと？
国際協力団体の活動ってどんなかんじ？
現地の”ミックス大家族”の中で育つと子どもってどうなる？

…そういうアレコレを、僕の日常を通してお届けする場所に、と思っています。
また、英語も下に書いていこうと思っていますので、英語学習もかねて、という方もぜひ…

Hello, I'm Jeff, live in Cebu Island. 

Cebu is... The only place in the world where you can swim with whale sharks, 
Open-hearted  people, and a mecca for studying English ...

I think there are various images about Cebu. 

One of my jobs is "local representative of international cooperation organizations".
that's why,
Like this, I live around various support areas, sometimes remote islands and sometimes mountainous areas.
(By the way, the top photo is in the jungle at Dragon Fruit Farm)

By the way, I have a Japanese wife and a mixed son.
The two are my treasure ^^

I also have a lot of Japanese friends.
That's why I feel a strong connection with Japan.

So... Sometimes I took a look at Japanese blogs ... when I was there.
I felt that "Japanese people are quite familiar with the Philippines."
"Thank you, I'm glad."

And suddenly ...
I, the so-called "local person",
"What if I send it to Japanese people from my own point of view ...?"
I thought.

As a person in a position to support
From the perspective of the Japanese people in the local community, as "people on that side".

What does it mean to be born and raised in a slum?
What are the activities of international cooperation organizations?
What happens to children when they grow up in a local "mixed large family"?

... I think it's a place where I can deliver that kind of thing through my daily life.
Also, I'm thinking of writing in an English mix, so if you're also learning English, don't miss it ...
