様々な顔を見せる、今昔の「尾道」を探訪 ! 【尾道文化紀行1】 Explore the old and new "Onomichi" that show various faces! [Onomichi Cultural Journey 1]

暑中お見舞い申し上げます。
オリンピックの金メダル奪取に湧き、そしていまは新型コロナの緊急事態宣言発令の報道がTVを賑わしている。なかなか先が見えない不安をもちながらも、世間はもがきながらも必死に動いている。

We would like to express our deepest sympathies during the heat.
The Olympic gold medal capture has sprung up, and now the news of the announcement of the state of emergency of the new Corona is booming on TV. Although we have anxiety that we cannot see the future, we are struggling and moving desperately.

筆者も、仰せつかった尾道観光大志(使)としての活動が8月から始動。いままでの作業の合間にできる範囲内で瀬戸内の情緒あふれる尾道を紹介しようと思っている。そうはいっても現在では情報がほとんどないので、尾道に関する情報をネットサーフィン(苦手)しながら
彷徨っている。
そんな中で、ステキな尾道概要をまとめた文章を見つけた。その文章を参照し、私の感想を交え「尾道文化紀行」第一弾がスタートした。

l also started some activities as an Onomichi tourism ambition (ambassador) in August. I would like to introduce Onomichi, which is full of emotion in Setouchi, to the extent that I can do it between the work I have done so far. Even so, there is almost no information now, so while surfing the net (not good at) information about Onomichi, I'm wandering around.
Meanwhile, we found a sentence summarizing a wonderful outline of Onomichi. With reference to that sentence, the first "Onomichi Cultural Journey" started with my impressions.

尾道三山にある、尾道を代表する三つ寺院、千光寺・西國寺・浄土寺が尾道の歴史を紐解く上では欠かせない存在である。そしてもう一つ歴史・文化を育んだものとして地形があげられる。
対岸の島に囲まれた尾道は、町の中心を通る「海の川」とも言うべき尾道水道の恵みが歴史を育む基盤になっている。瀬戸内随一の港として繁栄し、人・もの・財が集積されてきた。
その結果、尾道三山と尾道水道の間の限られた生活空間に多くの寺社や庭園、住宅が造られ、 それらを結ぶ入り組んだ路地・坂道とともに中世から近代の趣を今に残す箱庭的都市が生み出された。迷路に迷い込んだかのような路地や、坂道を抜けた先に突如として広がる風景は限られた空間ながら実に様々な顔を見せ、今も昔も多くの人を惹きつけている。

The three representative temples of Onomichi, Senko-ji, Saikoku-ji, and Jodo-ji temple, located in Onomichi Sanzan, are indispensable for unraveling the history of Onomichi.
Another thing that has nurtured history and culture is the terrain. Surrounded by islands on the opposite bank, Onomichi is the foundation for nurturing history with the blessings of Onomichi Suido(channel), which can be called the "sea river" that runs through the center of the town. It prospered as the best port in Setouchi, and people, goods, and goods have been concentrated. As a result, many temples, shrines, gardens, and houses were built in the limited living space between Onomichi Sanzan and Onomichi Suido.
Was created. The alleys that seem to be lost in the maze and the scenery that suddenly spreads out after passing through the slope show various faces in spite of the limited space, and have attracted many people even now and in the past.

そんな尾道を歴史・伝統・文化という切り口で、少しずつではあるが伝えていこうと思っている。筆者の知識では当然ながら限りがあるので、皆さんのお力添えを賜ろうと思っている。何なりと尾道情報をご提供いただければ嬉しい限りです。

I would like to convey such Onomichi from the perspective of history, tradition, and culture, albeit little by little. Of course, my knowledge is limited, so I would like to ask for your help. l would be grateful if you could provide us with Onomichi informations.
