金剛力士像を仏画に! 難題にチャレンジ【仏画曼荼羅アート】 Turn the statue of King Nio into a Buddhist painting! Challenge the difficult problem

仏画の中で、金剛力士像(仁王像)が描かれているのを見ることは少ない。
歴史的に見ても、私が知る限りでは著名な絵師が描いた金剛力士像の仏画は表に出ていない。出ていないというよりか描かれてないのかもしれない。
それは、装飾色彩的に乏しいことがあげられるが、総合的に絵画として美しさに欠けることが考えられる。
筋骨隆々、強面は造形的にはユニークで、ある種の共感を持つが、絵画的にはなかなか題材として受け入れ難いところがある。

In Buddhist paintings, it is rare to see a statue of Nio (Nio statue). Historically, as far as I know, the Buddhist paintings of the statue of Nio by a well-known painter are not exposed. It may not have been drawn rather than not appearing.
It can be said that it lacks decorative colors, but it is thought that it lacks beauty as a painting overall.
The muscular ridges and strong faces are unique in terms of modeling and have a certain sympathy, but there are places where it is difficult to accept as a subject in terms of painting.

その金剛力士像を描いてみたい、と神戸教室の方から申し出があった。仏画を描く下絵見本がない。写真から下絵を描く作業からスタートする。写真にあるような立体感がある造形物を線におこすのは難しい。この写真を見本にすると絵画的な描き方になる。

There was an offer from the Kobe classroom to draw the statue of Nio. There is no sketch sample to draw a Buddhist painting. Start by drawing a sketch from a photo. It is difficult to create a line with a three-dimensional object as shown in the photograph. If you use this picture as a sample, it will be a pictorial way of drawing.

いずれにせよ、仏画曼陀羅アートでは特に規制や制作技法はない。失敗を恐れずチャレンジすることが強味のグループである。
課題提案したときは頭を抱えていたが、帰りには "おもしろそう！"とやる気満々に。

In any case, there are no particular restrictions or production techniques in Buddhist painting mandala art. The strong group is to take on challenges without fear of failure. I was holding my head when I proposed the assignment, but on the way back, I was motivated to say, "It looks interesting!"

前回、金剛力士像を描きたいと申し出があった方は一足先に家で描き、昨日持参された。
見事な発想でまとめられていた。(トップの写真)
中央に朱で般若心経を書き、その上に細密な五重塔を。その両サイドに阿形像、吽形像を添え全体的に素晴らしい構図として仕上がっていた。

The Heart Sutra is written in vermilion in the center, and a detailed five-storied pagoda is placed on it. A-un and A-un statues were added to both sides, and the overall composition was wonderful.
