白い仔犬と白い象の、微笑に魅せられ 【京さんぽシリーズⅠ】 Fascinated by the smiles of white puppies and white elephant　 [Kyoto Sanpo Series I]

相国寺 開山堂は春の特別拝観で公開されていた。
入口からお堂に入ったところの
隅っこの杉戸に白い仔犬が描かれていた。
円山応挙筆とあった。
白い毛でなんとも言えない可愛らしさ、
いまにも扉から抜け出してくるかのような絵である。

Shokoku-ji Kaizando was open to the public for a special spring visit.
I entered the hall from the entrance a white puppy was drawn in Sugito(door) in the corner. It was written by Okyo Maruyama.
The cuteness that can not be said with white hair, It is a picture that seems to come out of the door at any moment.

また、方丈の廊下の杉戸には
原在中の白象が優しく微笑んでいる。

In addition, the white elephant in the original is smiling gently in Sugito in the corridor of Hojo.

ともに江戸時代に活躍した絵師で、
大典禅師のお気に入りの絵師として相国寺と深くかかわった。
相国寺には、伊藤若冲はもちろん二人の絵も多く所蔵されている。

Both were painters who were active in the Edo period. They were deeply involved with Shokoku-ji Temple as a favorite painter of Daiten Shaku.
At Shokoku-ji Temple, there are many paintings of not only Ito Jakuchu but also the two of them.
